COMMENTARIES:
Episode 1:
An interesting and unique start! The character relationship between our leads is cute! They're betrothed from the previous emperor's edict. Sadly, her family is wrongly accused of treason (maybe?) and annihilated. So what a tragic way to start us off for these 2. Luckily, he was able to "save" her with the edict so she's put into exile instead. I'm fancied by the idea of their union with this tragic event wedged between. She's been in exile for 10 years and he's been sending her books every 3 months for the past 10 years. So to start off, he still has her in his heart. Ouuu! My inner fangirl is shipping already.
But she's back and I was not expecting a shameless Dilireba but I'm all for it! HAHA. Red is definitely our girls color. And it must be a part of her plan for revenge, but despite the cheesy CGI of the ocean, that whole scenario was ridiculously hilarious. A shy, handsome, Gong Jun with a flirty, beautiful, Dilireba is a combination I didn't know I needed. Honestly, these visuals are serving! Her boldness to declare marriage if they survive the sudden pirate attack was gold. She's in to win and get back into the palace.
I find it endearing that he attempts to denounce Anle's
proclamation of becoming Crown Princess because that spot is saved for
his betrothed, Di Ziyuan. Oh if only you knew, Han Ye! πWe're
introduced to Liu Yuning's character, Luo Mingxi, and what a great
addition. Han Ye confides in him because he was Di Ziyuan's bodyguard
growing up so he knows her best. Did not see that coming. This was a
good start and I'm living for the chemistry of Gong Jun and Reba
already! I cannot wait for more episodes. ❤️

Episode 12:
Episode 16:
Crown princess selection is FINALLY here. And I thank the heavens that all the side characters agree with me and ship Ren Anle to be with Han Ye. The amount of side eye given today from everyone towards fake Di Ziyuan (DZY) was a refresher. That was literally me the whole time.
Anle is really pushing the fake DZY into a corner. What a subtle yet brilliant way to corner her by questioning her special skills. But I cannot. I can't take watching Han Ye proudly backing this fake DZY. As a viewer, it's so cringey and quite sad. Oh, if only he knew already. But Anle seems to be enjoying his recollections of her skills from young. πWow! The biggest mistake of fake DZY is forgetting the death anniversary of the Di family. What a mess this is. I'm angered for Anle. This fake DZY is making real DZY look bad. Her submissive attitude towards all this humiliation is a joke. I know she's doing so for her own motives but this isn't cutting it. I must agree with Empress Dowager. Her lousy tricks won’t work. And even if it does work, it's in the most humiliating way. Wake up Han Ye!
Episode 17:
The 2nd portion of this Crown Princess banquet had me in cahoots. I was about to throw hands! It was well deserving to see Anle gracefully sword dance and knock off the hairpin in fake DZY’s hair. Sis was ruining the Di family’s name with no shame. π€π‘But what pains me the most is watching Anle stand there watching Han Ye openly protect fake DZY. Those words should be for her!! It kills me that he doesn’t know Anle is the real Di Ziyuan. The longing in his eyes and hesitation proves he fancies her the most. Han Ye knew that Anle was the one he wanted to choose but out of guilt and loyalty, he chose fake DZY. It’s getting too irritating watching fake DZY think she’s winning the game. Just give us the big mic drop moment already! I’m ready for Anle to turn heads. Oh, and that sad moment when Anle told LMX she felt guilty hoping Han Ye would have given her the hairpin was too precious. She doesn’t want to fall for the enemy’s son but too late! ππ. These 2 are too precious. I know it’s inevitable but I’d love to see how they resolve it, if they ever do.
But talking about discrediting, looks like fake DZY is going to be exposed soon. Han Ye must really be infatuated with Anle to remember her scar from an incident years ago. I can see why it’s hard for Anle to not fall for him. He’s always had her in mind. *sigh* This is driving me crazy. I just hope the revenge plot pushes forward now that she’s cleared her mind and is refocused. Empress Dowager is not one to mess with! This lady has her own spice to add into this political mess. Cheering for you, Anle!
Episode 18:
Another filler. But it’s clear Anle is back on track to tackle the initial plan. Han Ye, on the other hand, is starting to waver. He seems firmer on Anle as his choice as his uncertainties of fake DZY grows. I guess we’ve reached the turning point of the chase. When he saw Anle and LMX meet up in the pleasure house, his jealousy was stirring and LMX proved it right. He stuns Han Ye by asking if his anger towards LMX is fueled by the Zhong family case or his private meeting with Anle. Literally love this guy for being able to instigate the feelings of our leads. But sadly, he has to keep his one-sided feelings to himself. Oof.
Anle’s conversation with Han Ye in the bookstore was dull and distant.
The look of confusion and hurt in Han Ye’s eyes clearly shows he’s
regretting his choices. He was expecting his flirty Anle but nope! Our
girl is setting her priorities straight again. She truly meant it when
she told him, "There's only one Ren Anle. Once I'm gone, I'm gone." Yet
we know, even if she tries her best to distance herself, it’ll be just
harder.
All the chess pieces are making their own separate moves in today’s episode but Luo Mingxi (LMX) is back with the dark vibes. He was on a mission to get Princess Anning to confess and he broke through. The only question is will he be able to get her to join forces?
*Sigh* These 2 are making it so much harder for me to not ship. She was lowkey happy he came to rescue her. π He even told her, she's not just a mere official but she's the one and only Ren Anle. π₯Ί I guess the bookstore conversation did give him a reality check. But don’t let logic come into play or else it’ll ruin your mood for this scene. π
Episode 19:
Finally!
Despite the repetitive nuisances and lines, today's episode was not as
annoying. It's starting to finally feel like it's picking up again. All
the chess pieces are starting to make their own moves which
coincidentally, has helped eat a chess piece (Marquis Zhongyi) In the
beginning, I was confused since I'm not a chess player whatsoever but
I'm starting to think, I really should learn.
All I can say is, Han Ye is a very calculated person
making it seem like he doesn't do much but this episode is finally
giving him some traction. He's been investigating and planning in
secrecy and I hope everything he's doing comes to fruition with
satisfactory effect or else, I'd be super disappointed. He's made a few
mistakes already hence the regret of the fake DZY being Crown Princess
so it'd be great to see how he turns it around.
And talking about regrets, Luo Mingxi warning Han Ye about rescuing Anle during the fire being inappropriate was another sting. The worry and hesitation in Han Ye's eyes said it all. Those eyes are a killer. Anle's feelings are conflicted once again due to his urgency in rescuing her. I wouldn't blame her! Who wouldn't falter for a good looking, upright guy with a gentleman personality?
But I can't deny that the last few episodes were
draggy. I don't know how to explain it, but I feel like the writers had
no idea what to do so we had some filler episodes with the characters
moping around as we wait for any news of their investigations to get
back. Kind of like when you're downloading a huge program and you work
on something else while waiting for it to finish.
Anyways, looks like ep.20 and 21 are promising! So
satisfying to see Anle tell fake DZY off. She did not just tell Anle to
back off Crown Prince π... good thing he pranced away with Anle
lol.
Episode 20:
Anning and Han
Ye have finally realized Anle is their Di Ziyuan! Thank heavens. It’s
anticlimactic but Han Ye did not miss a beat to quickly be happily
around Anle again. He hasn’t revealed to her yet, probably for his own
reasonings. The only problem I have with this is the overall situation
at hand. I’m happy he knows she’s the real DZY he’s been waiting for but
fake DZY is still around. Not only that but he’s chosen her as Crown
Princess. Yikes. So as much as I want him to reunite with his real
fiancΓ©e, please get fake DZY out first.
Not only that but there were a lot of
“reading between the lines” conversations with Han Ye and Anle. He’s
trying really hard to hint at her and unbeknownst to her, she’s doing
the same back. Of course, he’s hinting about her identity and she’s
hinting about him needing to let go. Not sure if Anle, has fully picked
up on it but I’m sure she’s caught on to his behavior. And now, LMX and
Anle are planning on when to do the big reveal of her identity. So much
going on but yet so little progression.
To quickly mention, the Marquis of left is playing
everybody and I have no idea why they don’t suspect him. I’m going to
assume it’s because he’s been lowkey. I don’t even think I’ve seen him
interact with the emperor as much as Marquis Gu. Who also seemed to be a
clever guy from the beginning but desperate time calls for desperate
measures, I guess. He’s put his guard down way too low and is now
doomed. I don’t know. It all seems too easy. Wouldn’t the main
characters be even a slight suspicious? Maybe I’m over thinking. Let’s
see how Ep.21 goes.
Episode 21:
Awww snap! Cute moments galore! We finally see Han Ye and Anle alone
after what seems like an eternity of annoying plots and characters.
Fake DZY tried to tell Anle to back off
from Han Ye who she claims is hers but uhhh… girl bye! Do you know who
you’re messing with? And to my satisfaction Anle tells her off saying
love isn’t everything. She’s got bigger problems to worry about.
(#FACTS) Best part yet, Han Ye comes in to take Anle away right in front
of fake DZY. He takes her to the lantern festival where they FINALLY get
alone time. No LMX, maids, or body guards. On top of that, he buys Anle
this cute white rabbit lantern which reminds him of the one time he
snuck her out when they were younger. Their first time ever alone
without LMX tailing her. Anle vividly remembers and the look of
sentiment falls on her face. Way to revive a core memory, Han Ye. π
He’s really enjoying his time with his real Di Ziyuan.
But is it all really happy/good alone
time? After falling into Marquis of Left’s trap, Anle and Han Ye get
ambushed causing him to fall off a cliff. Anle jumps after and then they
end up somewhere in the middle of a Xianxia styled forest π. It was the cutest. Anle desperately tried to help Han Ye and watched
him all night. When he finally wakes up, she knocks out from exhaustion.
Will they ever get to talk? π
Han Ye seals the deal on Anle being the real Di Ziyuan after he sees the scar on her shoulder. And ya’ll the way he embraces her and tightly hugs her once he realizes was too much to handle. The Di Ziyuan’s he’s been waiting 10 years for is the one girl he’s happily fallen in love with again. I can’t. Oh, my heart! π₯Ίπ₯Ί Since he can’t reveal to her yet that he knows, when she wakes up, they still share a sentimental conversation. Anle asks how a pirate like her would be worth anything. Han Ye responds by saying it’s worth Crown Princes protection for life. Someone help. It’s so hard to unship these two. Let them have a little bit more of alone time, please! πIt won't be good when they go back. π
Episode 22:
Raise up the heat! The tables have turned with Han Ye being the flirty one. He's definitely enjoying and taking advantage of the time with his real Di Ziyuan. The way he was so excited being able to cook for her but poor Ren Anle lol. It's the thought that counts, right? π Anle really thought she could get to him but lord, did those words and ABS get to her real quick. ππ On top of that, he was being such a baby watching her cook. These 2 are too cute.
But *sigh* why do the good times have to end so soon? The way he deeply
looked into her eyes and confess was too much for me to handle. So
much reading between the lines but it's clear he's out to protect her at
any cost. Which sadly, will be marrying fake DZY. ππ
(although I know it won't go through). A case of she doesn't know that
he knows hits deep as a viewer. That forehead kiss was everything! π₯Ίπ₯Ί This valley arc felt like a dream.
The distant and cold aura in the carriage as they hold their last
intimate conversation together was painful. Han Ye wants Anle to
continue being free but cautious of her actions before upsetting the
emperor who he claims to be a cruel person. He really wants to protect
her but if Anle focuses on the situation at hand, I don’t think that’s
possible. *Sigh* I guess I’ll go prepare for the upcoming angst. The
good thing that came out of this is that, the Han siblings both are on
the same page about the real Di Ziyuan.
Episode 23:
Episode 24:
What a gripping Episode 24 was! That whole court scene had me wanting more. This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for. The truth behind the 80,000 soldiers is finally being revealed. However, I still want to make my stance on Han Ye. To all the novel reader fans, I truly appreciate you guys helping us fill in for some confusion but clearly, it can’t be denied they did the characters a disservice in this adaptation. We shouldn’t have to depend on novel readers to help us understand the story if it was well adapted. And I don’t mean exact word for word dialogues or else it wouldn’t be an adaptation BUT we shouldn’t have to be watching and not understanding the true motives. So, here’s my stance on Han Ye:
At face value, YES, he does seem unwise for telling Anle to not blow her cover. But it would be too costly if things get revealed now. Most likely, he knows what the Han family did cannot be atoned for but so long as he can help her bring justice to the Di family and return the empire back to them, Anle can be at peace like he wants her to be. Seemingly, it would have to be when he ascends the throne for him to take on this case and investigate. If they do it now, he knows Anle could risk getting killed for identity fraud. Which is probably why he keeps asking if she could stay under cover as Anle and live freely. But we all know Anle can’t wait for that. Lol.
However, from past conversations he’s
had with Anle, we know he’s a calculated guy who likes to be prepared at
all cost before taking anything down, which is why he asks Anle to be
cautious before doing anything. He still wants them to be on good terms
so I theorized that his plan was he wants to make sure she has evidence.
Which is also why Anle knew deep down that she could trust him to help
clear the situation. The way they both kept giving each other looks in
the court secured it. She was signaling to let him know about the
evidence. And of course, he picked up on it which is why he was able to
courageously stand up there and question everything. He’s definitely in
a tough spot between family and the women he loves. I still admire him
and love the idea of having to read between the lines to understand Han
Ye but the major problem I believe that is ruining his character like
many others is this…
We’re being TOLD too much but not SHOWN enough.
Episode 25:
I'm speechless... Episode 25 did some wonders to these characters. This 2nd half of the case kept me on my toes. Ren Anle took the biggest risk on Han Ye and Anning but came out with such a big win! So happy for her. It was a matter of life or death and our girl secured herself with class.
(The painful looks of disbelief π)
Han Ye might have been prepared for Anle's accusation with the witnesses but not her revealing her identity. The hurt in his eyes as he realized the free willed Di Ziyuan he once knew used him to exact justice. WOW! I mean yes, wake up, you guys aren't kids anymore but to see the person you loved, heavily tried to protect, and trust use you is a huge sting. On top of all that, he was cornered and still held justice in the court with everyone. I have no idea how the show is going to patch up this rift between them but I'd understand if it doesn't work out. I still want to ship but it’s not plausible at this point.
And the Empress dowager. No remorse whatsoever. smh. π π To walk away with her head held high after admitting such a crime is such a slap in the face to Anle. Oh, I hope Grandma Di will help get this wretched lady. Bring on the battles of the grannies.
Episode 26:
The big reveal from the last episode has every one in reflecting mode
for today’s episode. Anle and her gang celebrate the success but Anle
feels aimless. Anning is back to guilt mode as she feels relieved for
finally exposing her grandmother but then again, she exposed her
grandmother. And of course, her “trusty” guard, Mo Bei, decides to take
this to his advantage. Yikes. Fake DZY had her own soap opera moment
once again but it’s not a surprise Muqing is there to stand by her side
and accompany her. I feel conflicted about his decision but oh well, at
least she can hopefully begin a new life. My poor baby, Han Ye… *sigh*
there’s so much going through his mind. Painfully he’s processing this
whole truth and the way Wen Shuo plus the servant looked at him is
exactly how I felt. Ultimately, he knows its over between him and Ren
Anle but still remains reasonable. Even if he was betrayed, he
understands and can only move on from here. I’m assuming the reveal of
Wen Shuo’s identity will come soon per his words directed at Wen Shuo
about keeping a relationship with Ren Anle.
On the other hand, Empress Dowager… I’m speechless. Till the very last
breath she still had no remorse or regrets of all her actions. Jealousy
drove her to the edge. She may have sacrificed herself in order to keep
the Han lineage in power but the fact that it was over her jealousy of
her husband and Di Shengtian is a plain blah. Then again, people can be
quite scary when it comes to things they love. She says all she’s done
was for the emperor but her husband definitely factored in her actions
too. I was hoping for more intel with Di Shengtian’s appearance but
hopefully, we’ll see her around some more. And I just realized, without
outside information, it would be random to just hear about Di Shengtian.
Lol. I don’t think we even had any mention of her before this.
Episode 27:
LMX stole the show in this episode! Way to go, Liu Yuning. But before
we get to that, a quick mention of the very beginning. Anle visiting Han
Ye to check on him was pure gold. This conversation cut deep. And like
the servants, it pains me to not see them in line with each other
anymore. But with a wedge this deep between them, it’s inevitable to see
this go down. The hurt in both their eyes shows how straining this
is.
Luo Mingxi is sought after by the Emperor and he knows where it's heading. The emperor definitely won't let the reveal of Di Ziyuan easily slide. Besides, you're deceiving the King. To protect Anle he decides to take the fall and ends up in prison. And Oh, my goodness! What a pitiful LMX. Luckily, Han Ye and Anle won't let their friend down. Wen Shuo makes a clever remark during a discussion with Han Ye on the matter helping him to clear Lou Mingxi's name. It's not considered deceiving if the Di family was cleared of treason. In turn it would be that LMX was purely doing his job and protecting the Di family. Way to go Wen Shuo!
Episode 28:
LOL. I'm just going to admit it. I'm Han Ye bias. He was getting
chopped left and right in today's episode. Give my man a break. He's
doing his best to keep everyone's interest in mind, well except for his.
With the problem at hand, he clearly seems to understand all sides and
is working towards the greater cause, the people of Jing. He's the
middle man everyone is disregarding. As Anle said herself, Han Zhongyuan
is unworthy but Crown Prince is worthy. YES!!! Everyone wants to pin the
last name HAN on him but we know he's not letting that effect his
choices as a person. *hugs to Han Ye*
"While one's birth may determine their family background, I believe,
with enough effort, one can definitely change their fate." - Han Ye ππ
Episode 29:
I'm shooked to the core for Ep.29!
"I thought the Crown prince was someone gentle but what transpired today
showed me how harsh and resolute you could be." - Luo Mingxi ππ
THAT'S RIGHT!!
In the beginning I was tearing up as Han Ye vowed to protect his people
and let them live in prosperity and harmony. Such an emotional moment
for everyone, especially Anle. What she sought for was finally cleared.
Her burden was lifted. However, the ICONIC ending of today's episode had
me wilding! It is time for our man to pounce. Be unjust around him and
you'll be gone in no time!
I'm still trying to wrap my head around his course of action, but I'm
sure there's more to his reasoning coming. I know he doesn't want Wen
Shuo to be revealed due to the emperor's behavior. But if LMX finds out,
will it be helpful because he'll keep it quiet too? I'm loving the
momentum of how everything's going and as I keep watching, all I want to
do now is learn how to properly play chess. LOL!
Episode 30:
LMX and Lin Lang both know Wen Shuo is Di Jinyan! π₯³
The palace is a mess after Han Ye’s ruthless kill but LMX being able to
piece all of Han Ye’s words with the connection of Wen Shuo was all I
wanted to see and it went down well. I was anxious but LMX freed Han Ye
out of jail so gracefully by piecing all faults of the Chancellor of
left and still clued in how it tied to Wen Shuo. I knew he wouldn’t let
me down. Han Ye has once again stunned LMX but I’d say he’s a worthy
opponent. They’re both uniquely clever but can still match up to each
other. I’m loving this dynamic.
Seeing Wen Shuo escape on his own after remembering everything Han Ye taught him was so precious. He felt powerless yet in a desperate time, Han Ye’s teachings brought him back. Literally the best father/brother figure to ever happen to Wen Shuo. ππ And to make me even more moved, he showed up to Ren Anle’s residence after escaping. When I heard him call her “Jie” while struggling to stand up, I just wanted to give him a hug. I know it’s not the right time but I hope Han Ye tells Anle soon!
Episode 31:
Per the main plot, the “revenge” Anle was seeking is cleared and it all
seems like it could be smooth sailing from here even if she doesn’t end
up with Han Ye. But that wouldn’t be fun, right? And that’s exactly
where the show is heading. We’re moving forward to the big arc that will
redeem the rift between our leads and unite them as one, the war.
Cornered and lost without the Chancellor of Left around, the Qin’s are
relying on Mo Bei to take the lead. And OoOo does it make me cringe
every time I see him around Anning and acting like he knows of nothing.
Yet I also can’t believe it took Anning 31 episodes to piece it
together. I understand she trusted him and saw him as her confidant but
why all of a sudden does she pick up the hints. *Sigh* but I could not
help laugh when she tested his fighting skills and approached him about
being a traitor. We waited in suspense for this long and without trying
to even be more composed as he always is, he quickly interjected by
saying, yes. But it’s ok. The faster we get through this the faster
we’ll see everything unwind.
The idea of using Princess Mo Shuang’s death is an easy way to
instigate everything between the two cities but I don’t believe she’s
truly dead. They claim she’s dead but can’t find her body so… π¬but I will say the best thing I’ve seen so far in the last 3 episodes
is seeing the compatibility of LMX and Han Ye working together to solve
things. Honestly, LMX’s character was great in the beginning but now
he’s confusing. When it comes to Anle, he’ll still be protective/jealous
against Han Ye but with court affairs they’re best buds again. Frenemies
at best. I’m most excited how these 2 will work together to deal with
this issue.
A quick mention, all the characters bid their farewells to each other by spending one last night together drinking like the good old days in the pleasure house. It was bittersweet to see this reunion that may never come of again. The emperor was reluctant to let Anning leave but he knew her capabilities. He’s a good father but not so much an emperor… But at the city gate when Anle and Anning were both leaving, everyone’s final farewells had me tearing up a little. Poor Wenshuo was so sad to see Yuan Qin leave. I lowkey ship them too and hope for a good outcome. Han Ye and Anle smile to each other while breaking down on the inside. They both try to accept the truth behind their reality but we’ll see how fate turns things around for them.
Of the main 4, my personal opinion would be that LMX is the least
qualified to go to war. π
My man Han Ye came prepared and presented a whole essay as to why
he'd be the best bet to be sent out. The emperor may not be the
greatest ruler but he's still a good father. He's sent his 2
children out onto the battlefield and I can only imagine the huge
amount of worry. And when he finds out about Anning... *whew*.
Anning and Anle have both managed their own army for 10 years so
they know what they're doing but LMX... I don't know if the end of
the episode was shown that way to make us feel some type of way or
just a lazy excuse for the writers to have a reason why Anning dies.
It's out of character for LMX. He's quite clever and I know emotions
can get the best of people, but he should have been more reasonable,
right? Do I have to much high hopes for him?? lol
As for Mo Bei/ Leng Bei what ever his name. His story is
disoriented. I don't care for him but it was so cringey watching all
of his actions today. The force kiss with Anning... awkward. The
guards fighting him... cheesy! LOL. His sudden aggressive
behavior... mhmm π
But I will say, Anle and Han Ye are both looking good in red armor fighting together! π₯I'm so happy to see them back together and work in unison.
WOW! Just wow… All emotions shown by Han Ye today was amazing. When
he silently cried trying to report Anning’s death, I lost it. Thanks
for making me cry, Gong Jun. ππTo fill up the tear bucket some more, what a twist on Anning’s
part. She self- sacrificed and order LMX to go save Anle. I guess I
was right about the writers wanting us to feel some type of way with
LMX’s careless mistake. Anning was such a brave soul and her last
monologue had me all in the feels. Her guilt ate her up and even
though it wasn’t her fault, she was able to find her peace. I can’t
imagine the amount of pain Han Ye is trying to suppress as the war
is still highly progressing. *Big hugs to you Han Ye*
On the other hand, I don’t know what the writers are doing to Anle
but she was quite unreasonable. She's upset at Han Ye for executing
LMX for his mistake but uhm... Anning just died and they lost a
whole city. How else can he go about this to boost the morale of the
soldiers? It was a more humanistic side of Anle but she let her
emotions get the best of her. And once again she’s cold and bitter
towards Han Ye while acting irrational. She’s disregarding his
position. Aiyahh.
Mo Bei was ratchet for trying to bargain with Anning. How do you
still manage to think she will surrender and come along to be kept
safe while facing her country? Like what?! π³And on top of that, he tries to emotionally manipulate everyone but
it’s so dumb. Like his bargain with Ziyuan. OMG. Bye!
Amongst all the craziness going on, we still managed to get a cute moment of our CP but yet again, Anle is unconscious. Han Ye is so whipped for Di Ziyuan! It was the cutest thing to see him reflect on his first time seeing and meeting her. Our man had love at first sight for her at 12? So stinking cute! I will repeat again. It has ALWAYS been Ziyuan πππ₯Ίπ₯Ί I can't take this sweetness.
Why are we going in circles again?! That dang emperor is so paranoid
but will literally be repeating history again that caused the guilt of
his children. He’s threatened by Anle’s military achievements. And
because of that Han Ye like always will plan to help Ziyuan and keep
her safe. Di Ziyuan isn’t kept in the loop because everyone wants to
protect her which is also meh. She’s quite a capable woman but I guess
they all see that she let’s her emotions get in the way too easily. As
per what we saw today with her reaction towards the whole LMX ordeal.
It was just kind of annoying because she wasn’t trying to see the big
picture. But I understand when it comes to loved ones, it’s easy to
have brain fog.
Han Ye and LMX. OMG! Why are these 2 playing with my feelings. I was
about to be really upset at the last 2 episodes but their last
conversation had me more at ease. They faked the whole thing and was
able to get Anning’s body back from Mo Bei. I’m loving their planning
but why does it have to be like this?! So much more self-sacrificing
coming. I’m happy to see them cohesively work together but all of this
transpired because of the emperor’s greed. Oh great π*Sigh* DZY will be in for a big surprise.
And with their secret planning, the conversation between Han Ye and
Anle on top of the city gate was too much for us viewers. Han Ye bid
farewell because he knows dang well, he might not make it back. Omg
how will I be ready for Ep.35?! π°
Episode 35:
"HeThere is no better Crown Prince than him." You're damn right,
Anle! ππ
WHY?! Oh, why did they do this to us. My heart can't take it. What an
emotionally charged episode. Han Ye, I was never wrong to stan you
from the start. You've proved time and time again how precise and
tactful you are as Crown Prince. You're more than what meets the eye
and to patiently see you unfold was well worth it! This was one of the
main reasons I stuck through for this long. Your efforts have not gone
in vain. I can't even begin to fully process all my thoughts for this
episode.
Han Ye and Wen Shuo stole the show for me in this episode! The way he revealed to Wen Shuo was subtle but it only made me cry more seeing how that made their relationship grow stronger. He thought WS would be upset but you raised him right Han Ye! As thoughtful and loyal as you are, WS has learned to do the same and stick by your side. ππThis fatherly figure/brotherly duo has been one of the best surprises to surface out of the show. Gong Jun and Chen Tao came through with the emotions. You can really feel the bond.
But we can't forget about Anle. Sis was nonstop crying left and right
after finally being kept in the loop. I cry every time I see her cry.
As a viewer, it's relieving because it feels like I've been keeping
such a secret from her too lol. I'm glad to see her reunite with Di
Jinyan. When they both went into Han Ye's room, everything finally
fell into place. Those paintings and that letter! Han Ye is too good
to be true π
.
Episode 36 & 37:
Quick highlights and mention from both episodes since it was more
anticlimactic than Ep. 35 lol.
The conversation between Di Ziyuan and the emperor. After everything,
he still tried to pin the Di family for wanting to usurp the throne. I
thought it was such a powerful moment when Di Ziyuan sat down on the
chair. She's turned around and realized the result of her own greed.
She let her ego down and sat in the chair just to prove her point but
he was so foolish. She even praised him. But it did clear up a lot of
the past. However, it seems Emperor took after his mom and not
the dad. Jealousy got the better of him. Good thing the Di Aunt put
him in his place. I just don't like how it seems like he got an easy
redemption pass...
- LMX coughed more blood on that napkin than Han Ye who got struck
with arrows.
- No one knows how Princess Mo Shuang saved Han Ye but it’s also
amazing he survived another cliff fall. How? I don’t plan to question
anything anymore lolol.
- I'm guessing the emperor spread the news of his terminal illness to
lure Han Ye out?
- Wen Shuo and Han Ye are the best! Sometimes I see Han Ye and Di
Ziyuan more like his parents than bro/sis. He's such a good kid.
- Poor Jili got himself into a mess with Ziyuan and Han Ye. ππ
but I love that everyone knows Anle's tea making skills are zero to
none.
- Han Ye has the best observational skills. I'm actually kind of excited to see him reunite with LMX. He knew LMX and Ziyuan came all based off the tea LMX brought and Anle’s skills.
Episode 38:
I know it's a logic free zone but who thought it was a smart idea to
give Han Ye alcohol? I don't need another accidental cliff fall. lol
Han Ye being bratty was quite a laugh I needed to get from this. I
give more props to Gong Jun because he's normally been speaking with
eyes as Han Ye and now, he's blind and still managed to portray an
aura of happiness and sadness clearly. His stubbornness finally got
Ziyuan to unmute herself and finally admit to him. I don't know how I
feel with the whole "fake marriage" thing but there's only 1 episode
left! I need to see my Anjuleye CP happy with their kid.
These Han siblings and their letters! They want to atone for something
that wasn't caused by them. I wonder how this emperor managed to have
such good kids. That letter he wrote to Di Ziyuan was everything. They
give Han Ye the best one liners! "You are the woman of my life. I
can't have you so I will cherish you in my heart. Di Ziyuan, you are
the only one. " ππ
From the 1st time he saw her as a teen, it's always been her! ππ
Poor Linlang died protecting LMX and of course, they would write her character off by not finishing her words to LMX. I've seen longer speeches for deaths like Linlang's in other dramas yet they couldn't spare her one more word. π
Mo Bei's captured was ok but it's lame that he just compliantly walked away with the guards. To think he'd do all that and then just admit defeat. Wth? and the audacity of him to walk back into Anning's quarters. I don't feel bad for him at all. When LMX told Mobei, "I can't wait to cut open your body and see what color your heart is." Whoo! I don't know if it's the way Liu Yuning looked or what but it gave me chills.
Episode 39:
NOTES
Favorite Episode/ Moment:
Hands down my favorite moments would be the Valley arc in episodes 21 and 22. It sounds typical but that arc was memorable because it's the first time Han Ye and Anle felt truly free. There were no outsiders and they had alone time. They didn't have to put their guards up. And best part yet, we got one of Han Ye's best one liner confession to Anle that was also an indirect confession to Di Ziyuan. I still get emotional thinking about it. It's as if we got a glimpse of Han Ye and Ziyuan's life if they were not constrained by duty and court issues. It was too sweet. π₯Ί❤️
OST Corner:
The OST's in the drama were ok. But I still managed to have these 2 songs on repeat.
I don't know what it is about this song but every day when I'd watch a new episode, I'd never skip opening credits. Just hearing the song come on made me excited knowing that I'd get a new episode. The art of opening credit is also beautiful so that may be why? lol
Hearing this song always reminds me of the pain and heartache Han Ye and Anle/Ziyuan went through. The longing eyes they had for each other but restrained due to duty. All the expressions of Han Ye and Anle come rushing back in.
*Side Ramble* - Manifesting for a modern drama for these 2! They deserved a better story. Their visuals are π₯π₯and they're both great actors. I mean just look at them. Praying drama gods will hear me. ππ
