COMMENTARIES:

Episode 1:

(Let me just excuse myself 🫣)

WOW! was my initial remark to everything that displayed throughout episode 1. There’s an instant spark that is already making me want more. Which luckily, there will be (1st 4 eps. Released today). There’s a strong aura coming off from the characters and their first interaction is not one to miss out on. I mean that was some subtle yet flirty hot chemistry they had going on during the party. And that dance! πŸ₯΅ They are not wasting any ounce of time to sell us on the lead’s chemistry. Moreover, I love the spice their bringing to the table. A passionate determined investor x a strong focused rich girl. I admit she does have that typical arrogance vibe. However, it doesn’t come off as annoying per se. She’s using her privileges to her advantage and not foolishly running around lavishly spending without a care in the world. Xu Si has tricks up his own sleeves so I know we’ve got to prepare for some angst. I’m excited to see how their progression will turn out.

My girl, Wu Xuanyi is back on screen! I actually found her chemistry with Gao Zhiting (Wu Bosong from “A Love so Beautiful”) to be quite nice from previous released clips. But I totally ship! Their storyline seems to be the childhood friend’s trope and as of now, I’m all for it! It’s way different from the main leads but I like the balance.

A quick mention, cinematography is wonderful! Those shots in the beginning were well done. πŸ’― The quality is pleasing to the eye.

Episode 2:

Miles Wei’s character, Gao Yi, not a good start for you, sir! I want to call out shady but will wait a bit longer to understand his character and motives. Another riveting episode, the business aspect came in to play and though my knowledge of business verbiage isn’t the greatest, it was twist after twist. "Free Unicorn" (her father’s company) is in shambles due to investment issues. And sadly, he passed away from the shock on top of his preexisted conditions.

(kind of dark isn't it? 😬)

The biggest highlight of this episode is Jiang Hu mourning her father’s sudden death while Xu Si is celebrating his achievements with his new company. What a contrast! The execution of that scene was on point. Xu Si truly is the epitome of ambitious.  This show has me not wanting to ship anything anymore lol. I’m already having trust issues. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ But then he keeps watching out for her too. Darn! I’m going to sit tight on declaring any thing at this point.

Episode 3:

Betrayal and back stabbed! Jiang Hu was getting torn left and right by all the people who she thought could be trusted the most. I already had an inkling when her so-called childhood friend propositioned to purchase “Free Unicorn”  and save it for her to buy back later. On top of that, she learns that her most beloved “brother”, Gao Yi, betrayed her too. Double whammy for our girl. You truly learn who’s willingly going to standby your side during losses like these. And for our Jiang Hu, it seems like no one is.

A highlight is Xu Si grabbing Jiang Hu in time before she attempts to jump off the “Teng Yue” building. Struggling to keep her down, Xu Si humorously tells Jiang Hu the company’s price will drop by 10 points if she jumps off. HAHA! I was not expecting that. She frustratingly tells him to stop acting like he cares and well, that response sealed the deal. πŸ˜‚ or did it?

( 6 hours later... πŸ’–)

After calming down, he tells her a story of a nice man who went through the same struggles but came back from his losses by finding his own way. Xu Si ends the story saying, “And if you really wanted too, you can make your own way.” He lists out 3 paths she could take and even sarcastically mentions jumping off the building. He proceeds to accompany her the rest of the night claiming that he wants to see which direction the wind will come when it’s dawn. (He’s waiting to see which path she’ll take by dawn. πŸ₯Ή)

Episode 4:

I’m loving the story’s pace! It’s keeping me on my toes despite being partially confused with all this business verbiage.

Jiang Hu has chosen her “path” and is turning things around. She’s come back to purchase Teng Yue and though I agree with most, I have no idea why she would do it with the state she’s in. But I know this is what the story is preparing us for. I can’t wait to see how she’ll turn things around. On top of that, Xu Si successfully purchased the land Teng Yue sits on. More fun spunky banter is coming!

(She really sat back there πŸ˜‚)

Speaking of fun interactions, these 2 leave me wanting more interactions with their personality types. I pleasantly enjoyed Xu Si being Jiang Hu’s “driver”. He offered her a ride but the way she quickly crawled to sit in the back had me cracking up. He was definitely stunned. They continue the driver act all the way to her house with her adding him on WeChat to pay for the ride. These 2 really are something else! This Tom & Jerry combination is slowly stealing my heart already.

We meet Xu Si's mother and his ex- girlfriend in this episode. It seems Xu Si and his mother have different business philosophies that don't align. *Cue the parental drift trope* While it seems he's platonic with his ex who also takes part in business work. Hopefully, it stays platonic... πŸ‘€

One thing I want to sidenote/ highlight: Why do the 4 leads have so much chemistry together. The chemistry is chemistry-ing. Gao Zhiting with Elaine Zhong and Gong Jun with Wu Xuanyi. I can’t wait to see how the 4 of them will interact together. Of course, I still prefer their original pairings but this is a treat. Truly refreshing!

Episode 5:

Jiang Hu sells her designer items to her so-called friends and is once again given a taste of this dog-eat-dog world. One of the so-called friends attempts to humiliate her. I’m glad she stood her ground and didn’t let her “friend” humiliate her as she wanted. But I guess you can say of all the crap she’s been through, there’s still some ounce of humanity in others.

Jiang Hu moves into the Teng Yue company and realizes the living conditions are not the best. We’re then introduced the name of the dog from the last episode, BOSS. Truly love his bad ass name. She gives Boss a bath and ends up falling asleep in the dining area of the company. When she wakes up, a group of loyal sweet grandpa’s/workers surprise her with a clean office/living space. At the end of the episode, they all rent an electric moped for Jiang Hu to use because they noticed her going out frequently in the past few days. How sweet! It seems that her world continues to crumble day by day but these sweet humans are such a saving grace. She had a break down after multiple attempts on the moped but boss was by her side. Dogs truly are a man’s best friend. πŸ₯Ή

Highlights: Her father’s confidant, the CFO, gives Jiang Hu a ledger of investors who took private loans from him. The only downfall is there is no IOU’s. Basically, she’s on a wild goose chase. What I enjoy from this is the partnership she creates with Yang Jian. He helps her to retrieve those debts and though he is fiercer, his methods are hilarious.

Xu Si are you against Jiang Hu or with her?! During a debt collection, Jiang Hu and Yang Jian go after the biggest debtor who coincidentally is having a business lunch with Xu Si. Yang Jian requests for the most expensive wine. They confront the debtor and expose his private loan of 3 million. This upsets the debtor as he is losing face in front Xu Si. Jiang Hu questions Xu Si why he would want to work with someone like him. Xu Si makes a snarky remark which upsets her. She leaves with Yang Jian but he  puts the wine on the debtor’s tab to which he replies would be the interest the debtor owes them. Clever. But I question Xu Si’s intentions because he made a snarky remark in front of Jiang Hu yet willfully denies partnership with the debtor until his private debts (which is implied as Jiang Hu's money) are paid including the wine. Hrmmm…? πŸ€” to ship or not to ship? LOL!

Quick note: I feel like Xu Si’s cut throat business ideologies will come back to bite him. Momma’s right about that.

Episode 6:

I feel like so much has happened in terms of the business aspect within these past 6 episodes. One thing that struck me is Jiang Hu’s vulnerable moments. Is it just me or has it only been Xu Si who has seen her in her most emotional state? He was there when she found out her father passed away. He was there when she was attempting to suicide. At the beginning of this episode, she chases him on the moped and nearly gets hit by Xu Si when he shows up to remind her of the 10 days. She frustratingly vents all her anger on him before breaking down. That’s 3 times already.

All instances were unintentional but I’m digging this Tom & Jerry relationship they have going on. Both are strong determined individuals but I can’t help myself when I see Xu Si instantly go soft when Jiang Hu raises her voice at him. The apologetic behavior had me thinking just how these 2 will be like in the future as a real couple. Oh, when that day will come! Patience every one.

Jiang Hu and Yang Jian is the business duo I didn’t know I needed. It’s great he has the same business-like mind and can assist her. It seems she has figured out Xu Si’s land acquisition plan. I can’t wait to see how she will be executing her plan to form a plot hole that will extend Teng Yue. Meanwhile, Xu Si and Zhao Yang have agreed on a 5-year influencer contract that will allow her designer freedom. We haven’t gotten much of their interactions yet but once again, these 4 will be the power couples I am ecstatic to see rise to the top with their skills. Such a strong group of people. Though I do question what Xu Si has in mind to partner up with Zhao Yang.

A highlight: Xu Si’s mom and Aunt putting on a sick front to stop him from selling the family business. Oh goodness! πŸ˜‚ They really thought they played him.

Xu Si is afraid of BOSS. Actually, him and the assistant were both scared. A true boss! HAHA.

Episode 7:

A random thought but Xu Si working at TT Media seems so scandalous. LOL! He works alongside his ex who approached him with the question I knew would surface sooner or later. She wants to know if he was trying to rekindle an old flame by mocking her amongst the subordinates. Uhm… what? Lol. Apparently, that’s him trying to grab her attention. I know there’s also no harm in him working with Zhaoyang. However, why did it feel so sneaky when Zhaoyang got into the car with Xu Si after work. My mind is running wild haha. πŸ˜‚

(She thought she really got him)

This episode explains it all! I can’t keep up with these 2 anymore. Jiang Hu and Xu Si’s mother would get along so well. They both love to put on a show in front of him. As they say women’s tears are a man’s weakness, it seems to work on Xu Si. Or so it seems? She spent days running around chasing Xu Si to agree on a rental contract for Teng Yue. Had a few emotional breakdowns and it worked in her favor to have him agree. Yet he claims to have caught on to her little faΓ§ade. Oh, what a headache inducing yet hilarious couple these 2 are. At this point all I can relate to is being like the Xu Si’s nosy assistant listening in on their conversations. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I’m going to see how our determined girl turns things around. He’s giving her a chance so she can ultimately admit defeat. Let’s see who will be the one to admit defeat!

Side note: I kind of want a pair of the original designed Tengyue shoes. They look so comfy!

Episode 8:

I knew there was a reason Zhao Yang getting in the car with Xu Si felt scandalous! LOL. My drama watching intuition was right. The jealous co-influencers are stirring things up. She blew up overnight and got ripped by netizens. It’s obvious everything shared online is false except for her mother’s personal habits. I enjoy the show giving us different business aspects. From all the technical business work to the actual execution by the workers. I definitely have been learning a lot. Then again, why is all of what goes on in c-ent world in here. πŸ˜‚

Jiang Hu is going through her trial-and-error phase in the business world and though I find her determination endearing, the reality of it would be like what every one around her is emphasizing. But I’ll have faith and root for our girl. Besides, she’s chosen the path that Xu Si relayed to her on the company roof so he best believe it! The montage of the leads working hard in their element was a nice touch on their personality. I appreciate all the effort Jiang Hu is putting towards the revival of Teng Yue. She sat in his office all day but didn’t laze around. She used her time wisely and obtained all the resources she could to approach him in the least flamboyant way with her business plans. And at the end of the night, he leaves her with a reminder that is a good wake up call.

Xu Si: For an investor, what matters the most isn’t money but time. Given at this time, I’m willing to spend time to listen to you, you shouldn’t doubt my sincerity”. πŸ‘πŸ‘ Can my ship sail now? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I’m literally still on the fence for these 2.

Quick mentions:

Their unintentional matching. Couple things without knowing. Great minds think a like 😏

Jiang Hu lists Xu Si as “scum” in her contacts. 🀣🀣 I wonder how he’ll react when he sees that.

I’m guessing the love triangle will be between Zhao Yang, Yang Jian, and Gao Yi instead. I was not expecting that.

Episode 9:

(Nothing like a moped ride to end the night πŸ˜…)

I think we just witnessed Xu Si and Jiang Hu’s 1st unofficial date! 😍 He agreed to meet up and even took Jiang Hu to his favorite dainty little restaurant. He paid for dinner. She bought him a brand-new white suit to pay back for damaging his old one. But what made my eyes sparkle is his flirty nature. Oh, my goodness! He didn’t want to talk about business during dinner. He made Jiang Hu drive him to his car as an excuse for more time. He got upset when she was going to leave without saying goodbye. Then proceeds to flirt with the voice messages. I guess Xu Si has fallen first! 😏😏 Just an update: My ship meter is leaning over the halfway mark after this episode haha.

It seems like he was in a bad mood when Ms. Song, his ex, told Xu Si humans are only tools to him when it comes to work. She’s not partially wrong but that’s probably going to come back and bite him in the butt later. Hopefully he will continue to work on his EQ after this “date”.

I found it sweet when Yang Jian drove in circles around Zhao Yang’s place after her horrible day with the scandal. He wanted to help her feel at ease. It’s quite clear he has a thing for her but only time will tell how their story goes. I do enjoy their chemistry but I looked at the family tree photo uploaded on Weibo and it seems like they are step siblings. So… I’m just going to leave it at that. I’m hoping to get a better backstory later for their relationship.

Just a little appreciation towards our girl who's constantly getting back up despite being knocked down. "This is reality. This is running against the wind." - Jiang Hu πŸ’–πŸ’–*hugs*

Episode 10:

(Hard at work for Jiang Hu πŸ’–)

Alright, I'm going to hop on board and blindly ship our main leads. I'll deal with the consequences later. LOL! I've been on the fence about fully shipping due to his intentions from the beginning. However, after seeing him fix the speaker and how he looked at her in the park, I've left the dock. 🀣🀣

Jiang Hu exhaustingly runs around town trying to repair a speaker for Du Wenshan, the distributor she wants to partner with, in order to fulfill Xu Si’s 20,000 shoe deal. If she can fix the speaker, he’ll help with distribution. The speaker is a 90’s styled design made in Hong Kong that no one can fix. But you guys remember he moved back from Hong Kong, right?! So, yes! Xu Si takes apart the speaker, calls a friend from Hong Kong, and fixes it up himself. He even agrees to let Jiang Hu use his car to transport the speakers.

(Those gazes 😍)

Without knowing her plans, he willingly agrees to everything she asks of him. He shows up to the park to find out Jiang Hu is using his car with the speaker to help a line dancing Du Wenshan with other elderly ladies battle another group of elderly line dancing ladies. But what really gets me is the way he looks at her enjoying her time with the line dancers. Our boy is smitten! I mean just look at him. Outside of the business world, ya’ll are cute 1000 %!

Jiang Hu’s friendship with Yang Jian’s gang is a plus! I love that they’re doing all they can to help her make the deal. I can’t wait to find out what her and Xu Si’s next proposition will be if the deal is completed. Zhao Yang is quite upset at the company for handling her scandal unfairly. Luckily, Xu Si was able to clear her mind to refocus on her main purpose. Xu Si is quite harsh to the ladies but I appreciate him constantly guiding them towards their goals. These platonic relationship amongst the 4 leads are definitely worth a highlight. They'll be a powerhouse once they join hands together.

Episode 11:

Our girl did it! She sold all 20,000 shoes. I give her all the props for shamelessly going out to meet her sale goal. I’m too shy to be doing that. πŸ˜…

Xu Si’s proposition with Jiang Hu was quite interesting. My business knowledge is low but what he proposed wasn’t the most unreasonable thing. He’s willing to exchange 3million yuan in rent for 70% of the shares. Owning 70% of the company is practically letting him have it so I understand Jiang Hu. She has all the workers interest at heart. It was heartwarming to see her celebrate with the workers with new employee photos after making the deal with Xu Si.

They agreed on a 51-49% deal and through conversations with his colleagues, I hope Xu Si is planning on helping her down the line with the advantage. His own friend doesn’t understand why he would invest in Tengyue. Xu Si says its not investing in the company but the people. (You mean Jiang Hu, right?! 😏) He recognizes her capabilities. I’m just afraid in business world, he’ll still turn on her. Am I experiencing drama PTSD? Lol. The impact of this scene was phenomenal. It truly embodies the inner turmoil of Jiang Hu and Xu Si. Emotional vs. intellectual business ideologies. I loved the scene where she stands in front of the company sliding doors hesitating before walking in to meet Xu Si. Xu Si lands the bigger portion of the deal but is starting to feel a sense of change in his decisions.

Zhao Yang and Yang Jian are confirmed to be step siblings. But they’re paired up to be 2nd CP? Different countries, different cultures. I’ll just try my best to ship these 2. It won’t bother me as much as Zhaoyang’s irresponsible mother.

Highlights: Jiang Hu shamelessly telling Xu Si she simply misses him then gagging right after. Realest she can get. HAHA!

The assistant singing to Xu Si had me rolling. What a great song choice.

Episode 12:

Thank you to Yang Jian for handling Zhao Yang’s mother. I understand why she doesn’t want him to pay for her mother’s debts as it will never be a lesson learned. I’m glad he found a way to get her to stop her bad habits. It doesn’t hurt to tell a little white lie, right?

Now that the rent issue is out of the way, Jiang Hu can focus on building the company’s production. The only problem is finding the right team. She’s got some great candidates in mind. She even asks Yang Jian to take charge of the e-commerce department. The only position that remains blank is the designer. It’s quite obvious that it’ll be handed to Zhaoyang. And luckily, it seems Zhaoyang will be joining her soon. Yang Jian was hesitant to join Jiang Hu because of Zhaoyang but she cleared it up with him. She wants to help Jiang Hu too. I’m happy she wants to help Jiang Hu despite their differences. I can’t wait for the sismance!

The further we go into the story, the more confused I am about Xu Si. He seems to be changing to a less intellect driven person yet he’ll say things that remind me how deeply rooted he is in logic. It clearly seems he judges people based off of profit per his answer to Zhaoyang’s question. Yikes. I may have to agree that this is quite harsh. He was quite hasty in this episode as an investor. It was good to see JH put him in his place.

Here’s what not harsh though, a sweet cute dog that truly is a BOSS! Even if he’s just chilling Xu Si can’t help but retract his steps when faced with Boss. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I laughed non stop when she called boss to come over and he thought she was pertaining to him. πŸ’€

Side note: The embezzlement issue between the dads of Gao Yi and Jiang Hu seems to be a he did, she did concept. I wonder what really down? πŸ€”

Episode 13:

Biting the bullet.

Jiang Hu was brave to walk back into Free Unicorn to set a deal with Zhang Wen Shan. The amount of humiliation would have sent me flying. When she successfully revives Teng Yue, I hope she can come back to slap it in his face. Xu Si called her in to listen to the meeting with FW, a company he’s planning on using to revive Teng Yue. Double humiliation in 1 episode. Sheesh. We know he’s urgent to fix Teng Yue but Jiang Hu’s marketing strategy is based off a pure genuine brand. Xu Si is going the practical route of mass production with little to no connection with customers. Here we go again with emotional vs. intellect. All we need is the both of them to see eye to eye and the branding with the business tactics would flourish.

What stood out to me is Jiang Hu’s commentary about Xu Si’s hypocritical courtesy. That’s such a good way of putting it. Everything we’ve been seeing him do is exactly that. It’s perplexing to say the least. Xu Si reminds Jiang Hu that he’s used to her sharp tongue so he doesn’t mind it. That’s one way to calm her down. In an intense moment, she may do something willful that she can’t turn back on but with Xu Si he’ll take the time to let her rethink.

She’s not the happiest partnering with Xu Si but I’m wondering if he kept insisting on having dinner because he’s not been feeding her well. Yang Jian asks Jiang Hu why she eats like she’s been starved when they have lunch at his restaurant. I couldn’t help but laugh because he comments about the investor not providing well for the company canteen. These indirect connections are a gem.

Jiang Hu is slowly but surely making progress for Teng Yue. The designs are still mediocre. It’ll only be a matter of time before we see better looks.

Episode 14:

(The tease! 😍)

Omg!!! The ending of this episode. I’m starting back wards with my rambles. Look at the difference one unintentional kiss can make on these 2. Xu Si is restless for the whole night. Jiang Hu dreams of sharing the bed with Xu Si.  How could they play our feelings like that?! My inner fangirl mode is on. Haha. I know she kissed Xu Si in a drunk state with the misconception of him being Gao Yi but oh goodness. Will this be the starting point of these 2 realizing their feelings?! Somebody give me all the episodes already πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Ok I’m stepping off cloud nine.

Zhao Yang and Jiang Hu are quite similar to each other than expected. From food, to songs, and… men (Gao Yi). *cricket* *cricket* We’ve barely seen the guy and from what we’re given he’s a big no-no πŸ™…‍♀️. How these 2 developed a crush on him is beyond my understanding but I’ll wait to see. He must’ve been a good person before this. I felt sad seeing Yang Jian prepare all of Zhaoyang’s favorite food just to be told she’s on a date. And to which matched exactly what she was having for dinner with Gao Yi. It truly shows how well he knows her. Cheer up, Yang Jian!

Episode 15:

(Just want to show off how cute they are πŸ’–)

Serve me some milk tea with double sugar! 😍 These 2 are heavily occupied by their business collaboration they don’t even focus on their own personal business. LOL. They’re starting to act like a couple without knowing it. Xu Si invited Jiang Hu to dinner immediately after his return from a business trip. Yes, it could have been for business purposes but it didn’t seem like it by the way he reacted in the restaurant. I loved how Yang Jian smirked when she commented about being late for her dinner with Xu Si. She explains that dealing with Liu Jun (sunflower seed guy) isn’t even as complicated as Xu Si and darts off. I’m with you Yang Jian! It’s giving couple vibes. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜.

( say cheese! 😁)

Be prepared to have butterflies in your stomach. I was grinning nonstop when she asked if he had dinner yet and his stomach started to grumble. He was upset at her but that little grumble broke the ice. It was the most genuine smile I’ve seen Xu Si give to Jiang Hu. Look at the impact they’re having on me. πŸ’€

We’re getting Xu Si’s soft boy era. And by we, I mean us included with Jiang Hu. She’s taken aback by his sudden caring nature. That convenience store date was the cutest. We get a look into Xu Si’s childhood trauma given the explanation of the fire that caused his father and Uncle to die. Xu Si mentioned it once before during a conversation with his mom. I can start to understand why he is the way he is now. I’m thinking he’s blocked out that part of his trauma to focus and prevent future businesses from making the same mistakes. But in hindsight, that won’t really prevent anything per se. Well, I’m all for soft boy era Xu Si and love to see him heal from his trauma. I’m glad he opened up to Jiang Hu giving her more insight to his nature. They’re so well matched! 😍

A quick note: Xu Si’s mom gifted him a cactus. His Aunt mentions it’ll be easier to maintain and according to the fortune teller app, Xu Si needs flowers in house in order to get married. But did anyone notice Jiang Hu has her own little cactus and a flower had bloomed from it after their convenience store date? These little details are life! πŸ˜πŸ’–

Episode 16:

Xu Si and Zhao Yang’s paralleled scene dealing with unrighteous companies is a masterpiece. Excellent execution to showcase the different yet similar ideologies of moral integrity! πŸ‘πŸ‘

Jiang Hu is a sneaky one. Maybe she’s got more tricks up her sleeves than we know. Her laborious hours spent around the company has done wonders. The twist and turns in this episode had me in awe. Xu Si included too.  Jiang Hu and Uncle Pei took the biggest risk putting on a faΓ§ade to weave out all the unloyal workers included with Liu Jun without losing a dime. Marvelous! I may have teared up a little when Uncle Pei brought in all the new workers. It was such a breath of fresh air to the company. But it doesn’t seem like it’ll be a breeze. In a conversation with Huang Xiaolin, Liu Jun learns of their plan and he doesn’t look pleased. Which means this won’t be the last time we’ll see him. 🫀

(Boss. You are my boss - Jiang Hu)

The chef Jiang Hu managed to poach for the company is from C Club. Also, the Chef Xu Si quite likes. I guess that means we’ll be seeing him at Tengyue for lunch often. 😏😏. Which actually is already true. *Cue jealous Xu Si* He learns of the incident between Jiang Hu and Liu Jun and immediately rushes over to the company. He’s upset she didn’t tell him directly what happened but is even more upset when she called Yang Jian for help instead of him. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ She makes a good point by reminding him of his position in the company. You can’t bother the big boss with these matters, right? I guess you better hurry up and become boyfriend instead Xu Si.

Episode 17:

My cheeks hurt from smiling & laughing like crazy. This episode is full of cute flirty moments between Xu Si and Jiang Hu. In a drunk state, we get another kiss but this time intentional and with the right name being called. Well, to Jiang Hu it’s correct. But he went in for that kiss. Xu Si’s learned of his nickname “scum”. He’s even listed a few other names he goes by but “SUGAR DADDY” threw me out. I was not expecting it. πŸ˜‚πŸ’€ Xu Si doesn’t like a drunk Jiang Hu because she get’s wild. I thought he was teasing again but he meant it. She bit him! I’m done with these 2. 🀣🀣  I loved that they show him lying down next to her again but in reality instead of a dream.

Xu Si’s a lost cause at this point. He’s practically announcing to his colleagues about Jiang Hu. Erhm… slow down, sir. He’s deliberately teasing her about the whole situation since she can’t remember. I can't get over that convenience store conversation! There's so much implying from Xu Si. Our lovestruck boy is impatiently waiting while teasing her happily. She wants to know if they “crossed the line”. I lost it when he said, "Do you mind if we did?" Omg! That's as clear as day an answer from Xu Si about his feelings lol πŸ˜†I agree with Xu Si when he said an explanation is a cover up and a cover up reveals the truth. He's making us read between the lines but he's practically telling her his feelings. He even tells her to think carefully about her answer. She hasn't had time to think about it but hopefully this has initiated something. I'll be waiting for a real confession soon Xu Si!

(A new blossom! πŸ’–)

A highlight: He sent her one of the cactuses his mom gave him. The cactus has 2 blossomed flowers now! πŸ’– (Lol I've never been so obsessed over a plant in drama land 🀣)

Jiang Hu and Zhaoyang have set aside their differences. I’m sure Zhaoyang will still be cautious but bring on the sismance! πŸ‘

Episode 18:

I know I can't let that cactus plant go lol but I love the symbolism. The minute Ms. Yue explained the cactus symbolizing “reminisce”, I immediately thought "He wants her to remember last night's kiss!" πŸ˜† & low and behold, I was right! The way he was upset she didn't get the hint from the cactus had me rolling. Jiang Hu was oblivious to the whole thing and resorted to symbolize it as a reminder about work. πŸ˜‚ Keep on trying, Xu Si! You'll get there.

(boyfriend things , already? 🫣)

Xu Si wiping Jiang Hu's mouth: Are you shy?
ME: Yes, I am! You 2 are too cute. I look like a fool madly smiling.
πŸ˜†
It seems she's acknowledged what's going on between them. And though he's disappointed she's keeping a distance; I like that JH is being cautious. I'm rooting for them but I'm happy to see they're not making JH's character easily falter with a possible relationship in mind now. Priorities & consistency!
πŸ‘

JH’s pouring heaps of love and care into this company. She’s tiresomely hand writing thank you cards to all online buyers. πŸ₯Ί Xu Si sends her an endearing text, “Running against the wind, I'll walk with you.” He makes it hard to not ship. I’m still blindly shipping but in the back of my mind, I know he was somewhat the root of her  downfall. *sigh* This is a good set up for angst.

Don't mess with Zhaoyang! Girl changed her door lock immediately. *whew* We've got boss ladies up in here for sure. Let's see if Yang Jian's scallion pancakes can earn him brownie points. I do understand where she's coming from though. YJ and JH took her designs without permission causing her to be in hot water with TT Media. They had good intentions but my initial reaction would have been like ZY’s. I hope that she'll be able to find a way out with her contracts.

Episode 19:

Jiang Hu is reviving to be thriving! I knew it wasn’t the last of Liu Jun (sunflower seed guy). His supplier he introduced to JH caused the failure of inspection. Back to square one and havoc letting loose. Everything seems to be turning upside down until Xu Si invites JH to a dinner with business journalists. She’s designed a plan to not cause a mishap in production and vows to be apparent to customers. Mistakes like these are to be made and there’s no growth without mistakes. Otherwise, anyone can plan for years to do something but won’t achieve it without action. Preach sis! Any venture out there can’t be done if we’re always thinking about waiting until we’re fully prepared/ready. Teng Yue will get through!

Xu Si’s advances towards Jiang Hu isn’t slowing down any time soon. On the way to dinner, he tells her, “When you’re wooing a girl you must have the sincerest attitude. What do you think of my attitude?” (me coughing a long with JH 😬). Ironically, he was kind of the cause for her shortcomings so is it still sincere? I understand you don’t mix business with personal matters but his ex-gf made a point. He separates each matter clearly. But not everyone can clearly do it like you, Xu Si. *cue the constant rejections*

(The way he looks at her πŸ₯Ί)

Firstly, they crashed a wedding 🀣 But the atmosphere and dance definitely tuned in for a magical moment. Xu Si was going to kiss her on the spot but JH stopped it in time by thanking him for all the help. He was disappointed again. This was me when he told her he wanted to kiss 😳 Xu Si couldn’t even wait until the crack of dawn to visit Jiang Hu and be clear about pursing her. He instantly went for a kiss when she came up the stairs. Now this is me with their actual kiss 🫣. Who turned up the heat in here?! πŸ₯΅JH stopped herself and told him she’ll think about his words. Damn. Twice the rejection within hours.

A highlight: Cactus update! HAHA. Jiang Hu and Xu Si were both restless the whole night after the dance. JH’s confused and lost in thoughts over the situation. The flower on the cactus in JH’s room is in focus. This flower that represents “reminisce”. Is JH being reminded of everything she’s been through with XS and how their relationship has changed over time. I think so!

Episode 20:

A lot of stock market talk that went over my head. But it seems like Xu Si’s original plan to help JH obtain Zhaoyang to become her designer will work. ZY was caught in between Mr. Du’s (Xu Si’s boss) pump and dump plan with the Shang Chuan Art project. They basically used her popularity to raise the price in stocks and then dip. This goes against Zhaoyang’s morals and she’s more than willing to quit. I’ll be interested to see how her contract issues get resolved. Let’s wait for Zhaoyang to be set free.

Looks like 3rd times not the charm for Xu Si. I love that they’re both maturely handling these conversations even if it is a let down for Xu Si. Jiang Hu apologized for giving any misleading actions but made it clear she see’s him only as her boss. Her body language says otherwise. It was uncomfortable to watch but that’s what makes this realistic. Deep down we know she’s harbored some type of feelings for him. It’s just not the right timing. Plus, she’s been betrayed by many people who she thought were trustworthy. I can’t blame her for wanting to take a pause on building relationships. When the time comes around, I know Jiang Hu will have thought things through clearly. Can’t wait for their dating era! 😍

Yang Jian is the sweetest! He immediately hopped out mid shower to help Zhaoyang who was being tailed. I don’t know how far he ran but boy ran! Zhaoyang has definitely found herself a good catch. Yang Jian taking a bubble bath was so adorable. He looked like a big kid surrounded by the rubber ducks and pink towels. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

🌡update: XS and JH are looking at their cactuses. Both have 2 flowers. It’s safe to say this affection isn’t one sided. XS was adorable saying the flowers for marriage is a feudal superstition. Cheer up, Xu Si! You'll get there.

Episode 21 & 22:

These 2 episodes were great. Jiang Hu is starting to understand the true nature of Xu Si. His principle of investment is for everyone to win together. Maybe, we've misunderstood XS ourselves? The latest episodes have shown light on his tactics that will not only progress the individual but benefit to the future of investing. A nice touch indeed!

The more they interact the more I enjoy their development. These 2 are well matched. They argue/banter like a couple already. Xu Si is definitely taking advantage of his injury. I could not stop laughing at him trying to make her stay longer. So many flirty advances from sneaky Xu Si. Gong Jun and Zhong Chuxi are so natural as these 2. You can feel the awkwardness and frustration coming from Jiang Hu when she was trying to leave. πŸ‘ Xu Si’s soft boy era has got me a mess. He truly cares for Jiang Hu and wants to help. His sincerity is becoming more apparent. For someone who can clearly separate business & personal matters, he’s doing his best to support her by making exceptions.

The collab for JH and ZY! We love to see it!! JH really thought it through to help ZY. She pulled a lot of strings. I honestly wouldn't be able to turn down JH either. I loved ZY's presentation on the new design. It was well thought out. ZY was upset at the rejection but I like that JH acknowledged her mistake for not being transparent about the budget. ZY even sat for hours painting the mural trying to reflect on her ideas. The transformations of these characters are such a delight!
πŸ’–

Episode 23 & 24:

One of the hardest things an artist will always face is having a creative block. For the sake of the company’s revival, all eyes are on Zhaoyang. Without her new design, Tengyue will have no product to sell. The pressure leaves a stressed Zhaoyang out on a bind. I absolutely loved the emphasis they put on this. As creatives, it’s not easy to turn on our bulbs to instantly make a masterpiece especially with added pressure. We are our own worst critics. πŸ˜…

(Such an adorable man)

I’m glad JH was understanding of the situation. She even helped to take the stress off Zhaoyang. JH’s willing to take the risk and produce the expensive shoe ZY designed to market with the cheaper designed shoe they’re waiting on. Yang Jiang being the greenest flag, set up an art gallery of nostalgia in Zhaoyang’s studio creating the new spark in her. When she hands in her new design, JH immediately requests for production. She trusted ZY enough to have it made right away. The amount of support and encouragement is very heart warming.

Xu Si doesn’t fall far from being supportive either. He voices his concern for Tengyue from a business & personal viewpoint. He continues to listen to all of her problems and is encouraging. As he mentions, he trusts her and he will do his best to help her. Teng Yue is her company so he won’t butt in. The only hard part? JH is stubborn and always takes on the burden herself. With the distribution issue coming in to play, they’re at wits end. Uncle Pei asks JH to talk to XS for assistance but she’s hesitant. XS wants to help but even he knows JH is quite prideful. πŸ₯Ί I adore him for being supportive but making sure to not over step the line.

Xu Si’s flirty advances even had JH flustered. Sir! You do not need to be that close talking about CD’s. 🀣🀣 He always turns things around to annoy her. Calling her out for not being the responsible one when taking advantage of others. Such a tease! For the 1st time we see JH actually smiling over his flirty actions. She’s also looking at the cactus while smiling. Now, it’s a “reminder” of Xu Si! πŸ˜†

Highlight: We can’t forget the romance. Xu Si is so good at playing the puppy boyfriend card. Daddy Xu, I mean Uncle Xu seems to have another competitor. The fact that he used Xiao Fei as an excuse to have lunch at Teng Yue had me dying. It totally back fired. Not at XS becoming the childish whiny one seeking for attention. 🀣But XS with kids 😍

Episode 25:

(πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯ΉπŸ₯ΉπŸ₯Ή)

Firstly, the romance was a dose of sugar that can't be overlooked. Xu Si's protective boyfriend nature came out. I was quite touched by the hospital scene. He fed her porridge triggering her memory of Dad taking care of her. I loved when he asked about the nickname her father used to call her by & then proceeded to hug her. πŸ₯ΊThey're too precious. He just wanted to protect her at all cost in that moment. For someone who is a daddy's girl, that's quite significant for JH. I know she's not replacing him but to find someone who can be the equal of the person you looked up to as God is on another level. πŸ’–

The turn out for the new shoe launch was a success! As predicted the canvas shoes had a better turnout in sales. I’m just worried about the Mr. Fang guy who molested Zhaoyang in the beginning. JH plans to use him as a distributor but ZY’s heavily traumatized. Yikes.

I swear Xu Si is so sneaky with his excuse to have Jiang Hu stay at his house. It didn't click in my head until he said, "it's late now”. His assistant was right! He sure knows how to seize the opportunity. The shamelessness in his answer about the couple Pj's had me dying. He didn't even deny it. He did it on purpose so they could claim the couple status. JH's hug though! 😱 I was not expecting her to give in like that and cozy up to him. It even surprised Xu Si. Poor guy’s been traumatized with the last 2 drunk incidents he thought her fever was causing her odd behavior. Let me excuse myself like the Auntie who accidently interrupted the sweet moment. πŸ˜‚

Episode 26:

What a complete 360 from the sweetness of Ep.25. I’m just glad we got an actual legitimate kiss.

I don't know if I'm overthinking but I truly felt there were major hints of foreshadowing with his aunt’s words & the conversation with his mom. The way she had told JH to avoid people like XS & making sure JH nips it in the bud before he sells her company. It comes off as a joking suggestion but with what we know, it's most likely going to happen. His mother told him not to have other thoughts. And I still ponder on her question about his guilt. Does Momma know something? I mean momma knows best, right? Maybe, this is just another reminder for us to see how XS will prove himself later on. I’m happy that both mother figures in his life approve of JH.

I may have to slightly agree with Ms. Yue. I’m happy JH isn’t trying to suppress her feelings. She’s acknowledged them but why say, “probably”. You can tell when she initiated the hug, she had a sense of relief/comfort knowing how caring Xu Si’s been. But is it because she hasn’t been able to find that comfort? I don’t think that’s what it is. She knows what she’s getting into so I wish all the best for her being with Xu Si too. (We’ve been waiting for this! 😁) It’s going to be a crazy ride. Let me prepare for the angst now. 😬

Yay! To the success of the new shoe launch. The downside, to choose between backstabbing Gao Yi or pervert Mr. Fang as the distributor.

Xu Si is all smiles with Jiang Hu until he discovers Gao Yi. Now he’s insecure and second guessing. See what I mean. So many twists to keep us on edge.

A highlight: Aside from the cut & deleted kissing scenes. πŸ˜’πŸ˜€πŸ˜‘ I loved the editing in these 2 episodes. Wonderfully smooth transitions & parallels. Ex) The porridge scene, XS & JH's hesitation by the door, JH's father waking her up, and the phone call XS and JH both received to go out. That last one really got me. Oh, so good!

Episode 27:

Jiang Hu shut down collaboration with Mr. Fang. For the company and care of her employees, she’s putting personal matters aside and going with Lidu (Gao Yi’s company). Better than Mr. Fang who’s known to have some kind of reputation. πŸ˜’ There’s also a new mystery person! The patient in the hospital Gao Yi frequently visits is not his father. It’s some women who looks gravely ill. This guy is full of surprises. We don’t see much of him but when we do, you can never guess what will happen.

I adore Xu Si for being attentive. He patiently listened to her talk about Gao Yi even though he was feeling insecure about it and reassured/comforted her. Hopefully it lessens the insecurity. Things are going in full steam for Xu Si and Jiang Hu in their jobs. There’s no time to date at all. But even with a busy schedule, JH is able to fit Xiao Fei into her schedule for dinner. Xu Si’s surprised look when Xiao Fei invited him to dinner with JH was priceless. He’s getting invited by someone else to have dinner with his girlfriend. LOL! He has many competitors to beat.

Zhao Yang stands firm with her choices but can be a bit irrational at times. She was set on resigning if JH partnered with Mr. Fang but before clearly hearing the result, she turned in a resignation letter. Luckily, JH cut to the chase confirming the collaboration with Lidu instead. It seems Zhao Yang will be working harder to complete the booth for Lidu's event.  Mr. Zhang who makes the shoes is such a pure soul. A dedicated worker who loves the company just as much.

Highlight: There’s always a little time for Xu Si’s smooth sarcastic one liners. πŸ˜‚

Episode 28:

Just when I thought it'd be ok to choose Lidu even if it's not the best choice, here's Gao Yi pulling more tricks. Smh. We barely see him but he's up there with Zhang Wenshan on the big dislike list. I hope Teng Yue will succeed at the event and blow those 2 away. πŸ˜’

The clothes makes the man. Yang Jian looked real handsome in that suit. I love how happy he was to be wearing it around waiting for Zhaoyang to see. I hope that ZY will soon realize to seize the opportunity with YJ. I love that they have small little traditions like the shortcake to hold onto. It doesn't always have to be the grandest things to make someone happy. Happiest of Birthdays to one of the biggest green flags!

Jiang Hu starting a company tradition to celebrate birthdays is one of the most simplest yet caring things that will go along way for employees. She just has to be careful when celebrating Xu Si's birthday. He doesn't want another suit similar to other people she buys it for. πŸ˜‚ Well, yours was custom so it has some significance, right? 😁

Xu Si and Jiang Hu are too adorable holding hands under the table. They were acting like young teens falling in love for the 1st time. It's great to see that he's still constantly trying to be supportive as possible. But here's one thing. I have no idea why they put the thrilling bgm on when JH's phone died while she was far out. I was wondering if she was going to get robbed or something. Xu Si was rushing to find her like he knew something was up but then nothing. They hyped me up for no reason. haha. The guy cleaning the bathroom had me cracking up giving Xu Si the thumbs up. A shipper just like us, eh? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

🌡 update: The cactuses she owns relate to Gao Yi & their childhood memories. The carefree days when things weren't so complicated. but now we prefer the orchid cactus, ok Jiang Hu? lol

Episode 29:

A very satisfying episode! Jiang Hu’s always got tricks up her sleeves just as much as all the other folks. She used her marketing strategies to the core. Using a different age range of Chinese celebrities to reflect on their experience and promote Teng Yue definitely hit on nostalgia. What a great way to show Free Unicorn what’s up. Seeing Jiang Hu walk onto the stage Free Unicorn set up for their event was the best slap in the face. If only we could see Zhang Wenshan’s look of defeat. There’s such an overwhelming amount of joy to see how far Jiang Hu has come to revive and thrive for Teng Yue. I could cry.

Ok actually, I did cry. Jiang Hu visiting her father’s grave for his birthday got me good. He’s the only constant in her life that she knew could keep her calm. Xu Si showing up to stand by her side and declare the safety of Jiang Hu to her parents was the cherry on top for me. Everything in Jiang Hu’s life is so chaotic, I’m happy to see Xu Si firmly stand by her side to support her & be a constant for her. Ughhh… I’m off to ugly cry again haha. Auntie Yue watching out for Jiang Hu like a parent is the cutest thing ever. She supports the 2 dating but can only hope Xu Si will continue to stay sincere. Jiang Hu’s support system is so wholesome.

This dating era completely gives us butterflies nonstop. The slow dance on top of the roof was the purest moment ever. Xu Si calling her "Little butterfly" just like her dad used to. πŸ₯Ή the I Love You in English!  Even if it's just for a little bit, I love hearing them speak English. It's so cute.

Highlight: Jiang Hu slayed in that white dress! Elaine Zhong is such a natural beauty. πŸ’–

Episode 30:

I disagree with Zhaoyang’s marriage too. It feels insincere. If she’s doing it to get back at Gao Yi or to get over him, there’s different routes to go sis. Yang Jian is a good safe choice but that’s not fair to him. She knows he deeply likes her and would agree to this abrupt idea. What in the world?! She’s taking advantage of his kindness like her mom. I thought she didn’t like that? On the other hand, I appreciate that he cares for her and wants to protect her but she’s not a kid anymore. He should have continued to talk it out and rationalized it together. Besides, marriage is a huge commitment. Why not try dating first before making such a commitment. She’s very nonchalant about it like it’s just an everyday task. This is a bummer. I liked the dynamic they have and was waiting to see their development. I just don’t like how hasty this turned out. Imagine if they didn’t work out or she never came around.

I just hate how much of an influence Gao Yi has/had on these 2 ladies.

As for Xu Si’s business ordeal, we saw it coming but I love how sharp Auntie Yue is. I sense a typical drama trope of misunderstanding because they couldn’t find time to talk about it. He wants to inform her but JH’s at her peak shine. Like Mr. Mei said, Teng Yue’s success was unexpected. Does this mean XS didn’t believe in her? I don’t think so. In business world, you never know what’s going to happen. And now that the results are here, he’s faced with the truth. He’s going to lose one or the other regardless. But times have changed and he’s changed. Had it been like in the beginning where it seemed skeptical to believe him, I’d be raising hands. However, this show is about realizing one’s own value of life. I believe this quarter of the show will give more light on Xu Si’s values & how he’ll turn things around.

Episode 31 & 32:

(All smiles πŸ₯°πŸ’˜)

They really fed us milk tea with double the sugar for these 2 episodes. Here I am waiting for angst yet they gave us such cute moments lol. I loved the unexpected funny twists.

I truly thought Xu Si was cooking but it turned out to be Yang Jian. Honestly, I'd prefer him to cook too. HAHA. Jiang Hu knocked out after 2 glasses of wine & nervously waiting for Xu Si.
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Well he didn't let that slip the 2nd time. 🀭Their dating era is the cutest. It was nice to see Xu Si open up about his love for the milk tea and dainty little restaurant.

(It is time, Xu Si...)

Here are my thoughts on Xu Si and the Aneda merger:

Even if we had plenty of sweet moments, it was hard to digest because I know angst is coming. To Xu Si, there is never a "right" time for situations like these. You got yourself into a sticky situation & to whatever happens there will be a win-lose situation somewhere. I'll have to agree with Mama Xu. He can clearly distinguish business with personal matters but not everyone can, that includes Jiang Hu. From an investor POV, what he's doing would be "best" for JH. But sometimes the "best" way isn't always the right way. & even if he has a Plan B the point is, by not telling her is a trust issue that Jiang Hu's been struggling with since her dad's passing.

Like I mentioned before, I appreciated that they showed the main leads as flawed characters to be able to flesh out their characters for the main message of growth & finding one's value of life. When Jiang Hu learns the initial actions of Xu Si, will her reaction be reasonable? Yes. Will I get mad if she dumps him? No. It's clear that what he's done is unforgivable. I hope that this will give him the big wake up call to realize that it's not always about profiting. Being with Jiang Hu has truly impacted his way of thinking. It'll be tough but no human is perfect. If we continue to better ourselves, our past doesn't have to define us. In these last few episodes, I'll wait to see how Xu Si can prove himself & come to understand the true values of his life. Whether she takes him back or not? I'd be fine with whatever she chooses. (Which we already know but I can't wait to see how she takes control of it.) I do believe in him. This arc might be my favorite because it's the biggest hurdle he'll have to face and grow from. He has the right intentions but hasn’t really dealt with things from an emotional standpoint. This will be a great lesson to learn from.

The same for Zhaoyang. I was upset with the marriage but what's happen has happen. I hope she treats Yangjian right and realizes that she's got a good catch.

Episode 33 & 34:

What a set up for the biggest emotional roller coaster yet. They began the episode by showing us a sick BOSS going to the vet. Jiang Hu learns of the merger through the text from Uncle Pei to Xu Si. She’s shocked but still continues to finish making the shoes she plans to gift Xu Si for his birthday. On the day of Teng Yue’s 100th year anniversary, she indirectly gives him a chance to tell her about the merger but he chooses to wait for the “right time” again. And then bam! She walks up on stage in a drunken manner to address the disgust, anger, and sadness of this big betrayal in front of everyone. And of course, the cherry on top, serving Xu Si a slap that I find justifiable in terms of dating. Obviously, this miscommunication & assumption of one another is what led up to this point but this is a lesson to be learned. Not only for our main leads but 2nd CP too.

The set up with the BOSS story line got me good. They remind us of his sickness and then at the peak of Jiang Hu's emotional block, they drop the bomb. Damn. I was crying but left speechless. I was so upset when she said, "I have nothing left. Are you going to leave me too?" That hit different especially when they showed the montage of Boss. 😭😭 A dog is a man's best friend.

It's a big pot of emotions coming from the angle of the 4 main leads. Firstly, JH was quite dramatic but once emotions come to play, logic is thrown out the window. It was already unprofessional the minute she walked down in a drunken manner to address the problem. BUT... who wouldn't be hurt when the man who mentioned MARRIAGE to you & trusted fully hides a big plan without telling you even when you gave him a chance to explain. Though I wish she could have directly asked instead of playing mind games.

JH asking XS what Tengyue meant to him was off putting. Yes, TY is your baby but XS's not going to feel the exact same way. He only saw what you went through but didn't experience it like you did. Notice how he answered, what's meaningful to me is you. Errr... not really answering the question, bro. Hence why he chose to do what he planned. He wants to lessen her burden. Again, good intentions but wrong execution by not communicating.

We didn't get much light on ZY's opinions. But I'm glad YJ is getting a wake up call. A lot of what he's doing for her is out of guilt. He spoiled her & now when his morals are getting crossed, we get this. ZY hasn't changed. YJ's finally getting to know her true side because he isn't being patient & submitting to her. So I think this is more on his part.

The biggest take away I got from this is Yang Jian and Jiang Hu's amazing platonic friendship. Yang Jian is the epitome of a ride or die homie. Bless his heart! I think he can understand her from a business owner pov himself. While everyone else kept quiet about the merger, he didn't even think twice about hiding it from her. Not only that, he was ready to jump Xu Si in a heart beat when Jiang Hu walked off the stage. If that's not being a real one, I don't know what is. I swear we need more platonic friendship storylines between adults like this one. πŸ‘πŸ‘

Episode 35 & 36:

Revive to thrive. Jiang Hu has changed a lot. It continues to amaze me how she constantly bounces back up. I lowkey missed her sass. lol. JH & Mr. Ye working together is a duo meant for headaches but I can see heaps of success coming their way once they reach compromise. They both have great ideas.

JH: Uncle. There are enough elders in Cloud Footwear. If you come too, we won't be able to afford it. πŸ˜‚ I don't know why I found this funny. JH stays getting entangled with the hard headed elderly.

I'm so happy Xiao Fei was able to get "Kid" but of course under, Uncle Xu's provision 😏. BOSS left such a huge impact on everyone including viewers despite his minimal scenes. I cried too when Jiang Hu thought of BOSS again. "Kid" is the cutest. I can only imagine that's exactly what BOSS looked like as a puppy.

These 2 episodes basically shows us the aftermath of the biggest blow. I was in awe watching their break up scenes go down. JH & XS's conversation ended in a reasonable mature manner that even I can't get over how well she handled it. Gong Jun did so well crying on those stairs. XS realized his grave mistake. Now he's trying to piece everything back. It'll definitely take time but it's nice to see he's trying hard BTS & realizes it's not his place to confront her.

I like YJ but I think his biggest mistake was making his own illusion of what him and XZY could be. He liked the idea of being together but didn't consider himself. I'm glad he got a wake up call.
If they all can communicate with each other and end it well, I'd be fine with it. What I mean by end it well, they can get together or even just stay as acquaintances. So long as everyone understands each other & are on the same page, I think that'll be the most satisfying.

Episode 37 & 38:

Context. Context. Context. Looks like Xu Si won’t be going through with the merger for Aneda. Something Jiang Hu doesn’t know about. I absolutely loved the way Jiang Hu killed it on the entrepreneur show. She’s honestly got the best tactic and attitude for marketing. Of course, they would build up the intensity by having Xu Si as a panelist. πŸ‘πŸ‘ To the director for filming an amazing interview scene. Cutting back and forth between Xu Si & Jiang Hu’s answers only to be shown they weren’t having a face off was great! I saw that coming but the execution was on point.

Everyone on the investment side is upset at XS’s decision which is reasonable. He claims love isn’t what’s getting in the way of his decision. What I feel that got Xu Si to this point is Jiang Hu’s answer on the entrepreneur show. She wants to create genuine brands that will live on for generations and live up to its full potential no matter how long it takes. Unlike investors who try to take over and only focus on maximizing interest in the shortest period of time. That’s a direct stab at Xu Si. Whether he’s starting to think investing is for him or not, I can’t say. What I can say is that what he did wasn’t wrong (job pov) but, he’s learning a valuable lesson from the other side as well. I don’t want Xu Si to sacrifice his career but it doesn’t look good.

I find his questions to Jiang Hu about Tengyue is valid. BUT that’s only because we, the audience, have context.  We know he’s not going through with the Aneda merger and trying to fix his mistake. Jiang Hu’s answers are what I expected because she’s hurting and has no clue what he’s doing. Now he’s upset and she’s still firm with her choice too. It’s still big misunderstandings. I just hope he can be reasonable & understand her response. We have 2 episodes left and when they drop the big ball on Jiang Hu, we’ll most likely get our rushed ending but I’ve made it this far. I’m not giving up on seeing the end result of XuHu. Be it a happy ending or forgive but don’t forget concept.

Episode 39 & 40:

I'm going to need my own milk tea with double the sugar to appease my feelings. 😭 What a beautiful wrap up! Xu Si truly worked hard to redeem himself. I nearly jumped for joy when Xu Si thanked Mr. Du for helping him clearly realize the true value of being an investor to those industries. That was the moment I knew; Xu Si finally came around. πŸ₯Ή Thank goodness he is leaving Baoxing. On to better things Xu Si! πŸ’–

(It's the matching coats for me πŸ₯°)

Their reunion! πŸ˜† I absolutely loved how he asked JH the same questions again. I really cried here. Now with better understanding, his questions have more clarity. She’s not choosing Xu Si over Tengyue. Tengyue is the incomparable existent in her heart because without Tengyue, she would have never fallen in love with Xu Si. Between Xu Si and Teng Yue she chooses him; the incomparable existent. 😭😭

My favorite moments:

The conversation, Xu Si had with his mother had me bawling. What an amazing conversation. A mother-son moment that was long overdue. Momma does know best. 😭It wouldn’t matter how much she tried to help him. He would have to learn on his own to be the best version of himself.

Mr. Ye admitting defeat and giving cloud footwear to Jiang Hu.

Uncle Zhang and TY workers watching the demolition. When one door closes, another one opens.

KID!!! 😍Xu Si and Jiang Hu’s son. πŸ˜‚

NOTES

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

Sometimes people start off on the wrong foot but “Rising with the Wind” started on the right foot. I had no idea what to expect but so far, I can clearly say I’m hooked. I must admit I was hesitant with the business centered focus but I’m really taking a liking to it. Xu Si and Jiang Hu are the epitome of enemies to lover. His cutthroat business like mind with her courageous persistent behavior makes for a great clash. They bring a different type of spice to the table that has me wanting more. I mean take a peek at episode 1 haha. Romance hasn’t been fully focused on but I’m all for this balance. They don’t back down from each other in business. And though they both have strong personalities; I like that they’re also not overly annoying as some of the typical drama characters would be. i.e., an egotistical investor ML or overly arrogant spoiled rich girl who knows squat. FL has those tendencies but she’s not dumb either.
The pacing of the story is great. After the 1st 4 episodes, I couldn’t wait. The momentum is consistent and has great flow for story build up. I haven’t been giving it much love in terms of production but the cinematography is eye pleasing. I already have a plethora of scenes that come to mind. Currently, it’s very business oriented and can be quite overwhelming with all the business verbiage. It might be a buzz kill to some but I enjoy learning as I go. I can’t say I fully understand but I get the gist.
The 4 main characters have very distinct personalities that gives a push to the different aspects of the story. So basically, there’s a strong set up with strong characters who clearly will have down falls further down the line. But with the help and push from one another they’ll be able to accomplish goals like none others. I only fear 40 episodes might be looking excessive but we’ll see. I look forward to seeing Xu Si and Jiang Hu putting their differences aside to work together and flourish in the business world.

Final Review:

There were a lot of cute & sentimental moments I enjoyed. However, the one that might have to take the trophy is the big slap scene. The execution of Episode 33 left me with so much shock and awe. My heart was racing like crazy from beginning to end. Such a phenomenal moment.

OST Corner:

All of the OSTs of this drama was great. What really took me by surprise is Gong Jun and Zhong Chuxi singing their own songs. I was elated to hear them sing. Both of their OSTs are so cute. The best part is that each song incorporates "wind" in some shape or form. All the details of the show is amazing. How can you not love it! Here's some of the OSTs I wanted to ramble on.

I once chased the wind with you - Wu Xuanyi -

Is there more I have to say?! Wu Xuanyi is singing 🀩I was really hoping she'd sing an OST! I love the music but I think the lyrics will hit deeper once the story progresses. I'll update on that.

This Love - Gong Jun

It's such a cute song that represents his representation of love for Jiang Hu. Our soft boy Xu Si and his cute lyrics. *Fun fact* - This song always plays when Xu Si & Jiang Hu have dinner at his favorite little restaurant. Just goes to show that although he doesn't know how to express his feelings, just being around her makes him happy. Hence the song playing in the back all the time as his inner thoughts.

Soft Thorn - Zhong Chuxi

I love Elaine's voice. Our strong girl, Jiang Hu. Honestly what a fitting song. It gives a "shout out to the haters" vibes. You can hate all you want, but she's still going to do her and continue to thrive. πŸ‘

Stay With Me - Steven Zhang & Ju Jingyi

Such a lovely song by two lovely singers! Absolutely fell in love with it ever since the hot tension dance in Ep.1 lol.

*RANDOM*

* The screenwriter for this drama is the same one for the 2021 hit drama, " You Are My Hero". One of my absolute favorite modern dramas. It's probably why I enjoyed the mature writing style. I've definitely got to keep an eye out for her future works. ❣️
