TTEOTM Ep. 26 Commentary

Rolling into Ep.26, I’m still recovering from Xiao Lin but today Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi have both beautifully executed the claw scene! 😰

Deep down it does seem that Tantai Jin regrets his actions so he’s back to wanting to reconcile while it’s Ye Xiwu’s turn to full on exact her original revenge plan. Tables have turned once again. When she asked for marriage from TTJ, I just knew there’s no going back. That proposal from Xiwu had to have been the most devious look I’ve seen of her and I loved it! Her brother, Qingyu also asked the most reasonable question of all, “Why would TTJ still want to marry her if he knew she attempted to murder him?” That response from TTJ was quite pitiful to set us up for some tragic ass wedding. 

(Just you wait TTJ. Pain's coming.)

I must say that in Ep. 25 Luo Yunxi stole the spotlight but today Bai Lu is taking it. When she was acting heartless towards her family, I couldn’t help but think how dedicated she is to complete the mission even if it’s due to ANOTHER misunderstanding this time. Plus, we get one of the most beautiful weddings, outfits and decorations! At first, I was confused thinking has she already got all 9 nails but that flashback of the proposal, whew! That upped the anti for this wedding. And then when the final claw activated during their kiss. Gah damn! Here we are seeing a happy TTJ kissing his beloved wife to find out bam! You’re going to be clawed by these 9 nails curated from your love thread. Ouch. That look of betrayal from TTJ. I don’t know how many more times I can bear to see it. Not to mention, even as the nails are piercing his heart he still managed to say he still loved her. 😭😭

Ye Xiwu telling him she never loved him was spiteful. You can tell she said it out of anger as she was hesitant to blast the last 3. Maybe it was to help neutralize her feelings but girl, it's too late. You want to complete the mission then go ahead. End it once and for all so you can realize how much of an impact he's truly had on you. Oh, but that heart protecting scale was a surprise! I was so into the scene I forgot about it. 😅Is it weird that I found the scene of both of them lying next to each other on the floor before passing out beautiful? Maybe it was the angle??

            The prison cell scene has started but I’m 50-50 on it. That whole argument in there was such a rush of emotions! Both of them are furious with each other for different reasons but still managed to get at each other’s throats. So good! The way she begged Tantai Jin to kill her but he quickly retorted back saying “In your dreams!” 👏👏 Bai Lu nailed the emotions of failure/despair while Tantai Jin stays representing betrayal. Its just I find it funny that they’re literally using any last ounce of strength to out tough each other but end up falling to the ground. Just calm down please before someone dies without saying their real last words. 😅 And of course, Tantai Jin still loves her so even out of anger we know he’s doing whatever he can to keep her alive. 

The way they both metaphorically used light and darkness to compare both of their situations had me torn. He was in the dark for too long and to get that glimpse of light was a blessing. But this scene truly revealed why he had his guard up for so long. When he finally thinks its safe to trust someone, it ended up in tragedy again with the person he loved. Oh goodness Tantai Jin! In real life, you'd have lots of therapy needed. I just want to give him a hug. Ye Xiwu doesn't help by adding more salt to the wound when she says he doesn't deserve light. Oh great 😔 I don't know if she says this out of anger or to make him hate her so when she dies it'll be less painful but this is a mess. So do you love him or not, girl? TTJ definitely has his own wrong doings for sure but Ye Xiwu toying with him wasn't so good either. Here I go feeling conflicted again.

We end the episode with the annoying Ye Bingchang confessing to Xiwu about the porridge then trying to kill her. What good will that do if the guards find her dead and you were the last to visit? 🤦‍♀️ Luckily, Pian Ran and Qingyu come to the rescue! Holding on to see how much more of this hectic mess of emotions goes on for Ep.27. Now that Xiwu knows the truth behind the porridge this should get interesting.
