Summary: Xiang Yuan, the eldest miss of Donghe group, is tasked with saving their Xi'an branch from bankruptcy. At this time, she meets her former crush Xu Yan Shi once again.
In their school days, Xiang Yuan pursued Xu Yan Shi with all her might to no avail. Reunited as adults, she is trying to save a company while he is deep in the mud due to problems in the workplace. Despite facing inequality, he is determined to pursue his dream to become a navigation engineer. In the process of dealing with the company crisis, Xiang Yuan gradually learns to take matters into her own hands. The two come to support each other as they realize their dreams.

Rambling Commentary
Episode 1:
It's nonstop laughter from the minute the show started. What a great start! These 2 barely interacted yet already pulled us in. Props to Janice Wu for the hilarious yet embarrassing reunion. I'm hooked!
Episode 2:
Of course they'd be working at the same exact company in the same exact department. Whatever happen to distance makes the heart fonder? LOL. Who am I kidding?! The close proximity is all we need now for some more hilarious interactions.
Episode 3:
As predicted, our ML definitely has feelings for FL and most likely did back then too. Back again with another tight lip ML who cares from a far. Let's hope it doesn't go down the typical trope. 🤞I love that she tried to avoid going to his house for the party but he was able to get back at her with her own words. She's definitely met her match! He also still remembers lots of small details about her from high school. *swoon* The way she acted in Highschool is the exact way she is now and depending on how you look at it, it could be a good or bad thing. I like that the actress is doing a great job to be just as bubbly as Janice is with her acting.
I can't get over their conversation on the balcony. Leave it to Xu Yanshi to make satellite navigation sound romantic.
And well, I guess ML is going through his own personal struggles that we'll be learning of later. Seems sad already. A dad in debt and a brother whose sick. 🙁
Episode 4:
Their teen counterparts are cute. They have their own set of chemistry which fits for the storyline of their past. I'd watch them in their own drama if possible.
The little group of mean girls must have really got their jobs through connections. I mean really, Aren't we all grown already?!
The coworkers are hilarious. I love their continuous shipping of our leads! Seems like we're diving into the drama part of the story with work issues. FL is pushing it by being overly persistent on solving the issue without getting any intel. Hopefully after Gao Leng explained it to her, she'll be clearer in her ways.
Episode 5:
Let me join the Xu Yanshi Fan Club with the coworkers too please! LOL. They are the sweetest bunch staying loyal to their Lao Da (boss). That video clip snippet turned him petty real quick. haha. But Gao Leng's commentary about the 2 fridges had me cracking up. We definitely see the friction. Honestly, they're so funny bantering with each other. She's so dramatic but he knows how to handle her. It's so funny he's already used to her shenanigans.
Xu Yanshi has lots of connections! I need to learn from him. Just like FL, I too want to know who this Chen Shan is. Why do they have so much control on ML? He truly does fit in with that bigger and better company. I'm so sad he can't be there. Praying for better things to come your way Xu Yanshi!
Episode 6:
The conversation on the balcony was the cutest. They definitely are right about having deeper trust for each other as old classmates. The established relationship is such a plus. We can dive right in to their story. And not at them openly flirting in front of the friend. 👀 Cue the jealousy! That cake looked so good but not in the eyes of Xu Yanshi. LOL. The rich single father has nothing on the handsome poor guy Xiang Yuan keeps openly conversing about. No worries Xu Yanshi! 😂
He's got her checking in on the team but his friend keeping an eye on her. Not to mention, he openly admits to his friend he has feelings for her! 🥳Guess we'll have to see whose confessing first. Bets anyone? 😏
That Li Chi coworker, what an entitled a-hole. 🙄 The boss Li isn't any much better either. Does anyone really work in this company? I guess we know why the company's declining. Which I have no idea why everyone is so casually talking about it without a worry that they will lose their jobs...
Alas, Dr. Gu (FL's uncle) was the one who performed surgery on Xu Yanshi's friend. That was unexpected. I really thought they were not going to reach him. The way she got through to the uncle while he was on vacation seemed to be pushing it a bit again. I love her persistence but I can see it coming back to bite her in the future.
Episode 7:
Maybe I spoke too soon from the last episode. She's got a good heart and will really come through for the people she cares for. She tiredly tried to reach the Doctor Uncle and paid for that first class ticket even after hesitating. Not to mention, she came to find him after causing trouble with a client who spoke ill about Xu Yanshi. Just get together already you 2!
Honestly, the 2 Li super's in the company are annoying as heck. Why stay and exploit everyone if you know it's useless to stay. Such shitty people especially the way they treat Xu Yanshi. 🙄
Xu Yanshi had a ball listening to Chen Shu breakdown the issue with Huang Qiming. That annoying client from the earlier episode. Xu Yanshi is subtle but speaks volume in all the little things he does. He ordered all the food she liked and wants to protect her from the annoying Li lady. And then at the class reunion. OMG not the class reunion. LOL! It's Xiang Yuan's turn to be jealous. The way he was able to read her body language and coolly avoided all the advances from the girl Zhong Ling. Way to go Xu Yanshi! 👏👏
Episode 8:
Instakill! Xu Yanshi doesn't play when you mess with Xiang Yuan. 😂 The way he also "accidently" killed Zhong Ling's character in the game after she kept targeting FL. So petty but hilarious.
A cute moment dispersed quickly by sheer awkwardness lol. For a moment there I thought they forgot that they aren't a thing. Honestly, I'm such a sucker for snow in dramas for the magical elements and I'm all for it here. It was kind of odd how quickly Xiang Yuan got upset at Xu Yanshi and threw a tantrum. Hopefully this isn't something that continues. Poor dude had no idea yet got the short end of the stick. I also forgot she vowed to Grandpa about not getting married. Guess my head was too in the clouds with her. But if that's the excuse she's going to use to stop her heart then this doesn't look so good for her.
We finally meet this Chen Shan lady! She doesn't seem bad but who knows. Only time will tell. Xu Yanshi is indebted to her but yikes, to control him is... 🧐But Xiang Yuan's caught herself in a bind realizing that she got upset for no reason. Uh-oh...
The tech squad stays cracking me up. I'll join the CP fanclub with them too! 😂 Not at Gao Leng suggesting Shi Tianyao to ask Xu Yanshi for FL's shoe size. Then they trigger his jealousy with that livestream. He's all hot and bothered she's sitting with the live streamer "Karma" but his instant smile when she says she's texting her "boyfriend" had me rolling. I mean why even deny it when you guys are this openly aggressive towards your feelings already. Xu Yanshi you tight lipped man. Hurry up before more men line up!
Episode 9:
This episode was quite catty. Ying Yinyin and her mean girl group of friends sure do love a good gossip. I zone out from them now. I mean c'mon, it's not High school. And Xiang Yuan subtly getting back at Yinyin is also petty. Why are the writers doing this?! It's kind of annoying to watch. Xiang Yuan doesn't need to be written as this immature. Which makes my head spin because here she comes getting upset at ML again from rumors. Is she traumatized from the Highschool incident or what? Where is the trust?? Last time she realized she made a mistake by assuming things but she's doing it again. I still have faith in her. I just hope she can be more mature and distinguish things clearer for herself. Our ML is still stuck out on a limb getting hit with the abrupt mood swings.
On the other hand, he may not have said it to her yet but he's so bold for declaring that she's his. LOL!! It's great they already realize their own feelings but now onto the chase. And that's definitely not going to be easy considering that she's still angry and he's clueless. Good luck!
Episode 10:
What an interesting dinner. Xu Yanshi coming in for the save once again. He literally should just have a sign over his head saying don't mess with my girl! LOL. The story he made up to cover for her mistake was too good. Time to take the "L" Xiang Yuan and accept this fake story.
First kiss = awkward kiss. I mean what was that edit of them in space?! 🤨So random. It kind killed the vibe. The 2 of them reacting to the accidental kiss is hilarious. She's all embarrassed and he's used it as a declaration of dating. No. Not dating but Marriage! Our man has fallen hard but at least he knows "it's always been her". Omg this is too much. Xiang Yuan trying to justify her thoughts by saying she is an adult shows that no matter at what age, you can still get butterflies. Don't fight it, girl! I mean she was kind of hopeful he'd confess on the patio. Accept those feelings.
That pinhole camera incident was wild. Li Chi, I'm not surprised but 2nd CP definitely have a lot of things to sort out. I didn't even know they were being lowkey. It's ok. I don't click with them anyways. And I shouldn't be laughing but when her coworker struggled to pick her up after the incident, I couldn't help it. Xu Yanshi came in and swiftly took her away. And the whole company shipping them was too good. Even with a head injury Xiang Yuan still managed to work through her Cinderella thoughts. This girl! 😂😂
Episode 11:
Back with the mood swings once again. Honestly, this is getting kind of annoying. Xiang Yuan really should just ask Xu Yanshi if it bothers her that bad. I understand they aren't a "thing" yet so it's not appropriate, but it's rude to give him the cold shoulder when technically, he's done nothing wrong either. I'd be just as confused if I was him. One minute she's happy and talkative then cold as ice the next. Who could deal with that? And to make matters worse, we finally see his side of the story from their Highschool days. Xu Yanshi was right. It's always been her! 😭😭. The cake, the hair clips, the tutoring. All for her. I don't dislike Xiang Yuan but c'mon writers, let our girl be reasonable too.
I'm taking this episode as his confession. He didn't directly say "I like you" but his words already says a lot. Moreso, his actions. He waited outside the ward despite FL telling him to go home and bought her breakfast before finally leaving. She rejected him to protect herself but she's only doing so out of her own assumptions. 🤦♀️ I would understand if their was an actual issue/block between them but this is too much. When he raised his voice at her for always trying to stand out, I couldn't agree more. *Sigh* lets get these 2 on the same page please.
Episode 12:
So much to say but where to begin? First, this 2nd CP is getting so yucky. Gao Leng is so childish and I’m over these fights with Li Chi. I couldn’t agree more when Xiang Yuan explained to Gao Leng about Chen Shu’s actions. Preach it sis! It’s not easy out there to be a woman especially in corporate. The whole episode was ruined by Li Chi just like the project could have been. He’s such an ass. I can’t stand listening to him talk. Nothing good comes out of his mouth. I feel so bad the whole department had to deal with him for this long. I can still feel the irritation as I write this.
The leads “arguing” over the situation was a push and pull for me. I understood both sides but I just knew Xu Yanshi had something up his sleeves already. Xiang Yuan is used to getting her way but c’mon, there really are times in real life where you won’t always win. It just pains me to see how much she’s trying to always fight for everything. I’m proud of her for doing it but she does really need a taste of reality. I mean she’s still technically in her bubble because she runs back to gramps when she wants to fix a BIG company issue. Imagine if she didn’t have gramps? It’d make her understand Xu Yan Shi better too. He doesn’t have the privilege she does.
But of course, despite the dramatic parts of the episode, there’s always a sprinkle of cuteness. Xu Yan Shi’s become more and more of a flirt/ tease. And I could not stop laughing when he nonchalantly asked her to go out with him and they both realized the context. Don’t get ahead of yourselves now you two. LOL. Who am I kidding?! 😂
Episode 13:
I'm kind of relieved that Xiang Yuan’s grandpa is
feeling the exact same about her trying to always be fair. His explanation to
her may have been too lengthy haha but he’s got the right idea. I’m the same
with you gramps! But I can’t get over their silly dynamic. It’s so sweet.
Talking about sweet. Leave it to Xu Yan Shi to flex
his programming skills and flirt with Xiang Yuan. I love the confidence he had
and then the roommate busted the bubble by saying he’s so outdated. Better yet,
his advice to Xu Yan Shi was even more aggressive it makes the coded heart not
a bad idea. I mean what a way to really capture a girl’s heart by sending her a
“pop up” that can only be closed by answering the big question of “Will you be
my girlfriend?” with “Yes” or “Not GF, but Wife”. 😂😂Seriously too funny that
they nerded out together.
Xu
Yan Shi back with the teasing! The fact that he picked up on her guilt for
getting the Director position and using it to his advantage is hilarious. I
know it’s for good fun and laughs but I get a kick out of it just as much as he
is. Everyone else is upset about the position change, which is understandable
but Xu Yan Shi’s out here having a ball. 😅 The
fact that he was jealous seeing her with another guy to instantly teasing her, Oh
goodness! Can’t wait to see her reaction when she finds out.
Episode 14:
A whole episode full of laughter and not too much work related stuff. Thank heavens! I find it cute that everyone around them ships but Xu Yanshi's little brother is the biggest anti currently. Little bro has a new standard to wedge between them. He bets Xiang Yuan about running away if they do end up together and it looks like he might have to run away from home soon.
The gathering at Xiang Yuan's home was the best reveal/tease with the truth or dare game. Xu Yan Shi is getting bolder by the minute. When he chose dare, I knew he was up for something sneaky. And thank goodness the co workers did not skip a beat to give the right dare. Okay maybe not You Zhi but everyone else had the right idea. I'm happy to see he's becoming more comfortable in declaring his feelings towards her around people but I hope she communicates back soon. Even on the balcony when they conversed did she finally realize he was jealous of the "Single father neighbor" and not the director position. It's clear to everyone at this point how he feels. It's all on her to give her stance and clear her assumptions. She says let's be "brothers" but still acknowledges all of the caring gestures he gives to her. I don't blame him for being confused. But no worries Xu Yan Shi, I know you got this! 💪
He's got his own special way of getting to her. The reveal of him being the "friend" of her bestie's husband was a dead give away but it's all good fun to poke at her. And subtle jealousy must be Xu Yan Shi's thing. I still can't get over him downing the yogurt drinks in attempt to get a kiss because of the little brother. What a unique charmer. haha.
Episode 15:
Back to work! Well actually, Xu Yan Shi and Xiang Yuan are headed to the navigation competition they've been secretly working on with his former college roommate, Lao Qing. And of course, with any type of competition you'll have competitors but in drama land it's always a small world. We're introduced to Lu Jianliang, an arrogant guy who was a Senior of Xu Yan Shi back in college and Feng Jun, former roommates of the two and friend of Xiang Yuan. Both who feel inferior to Xu Yan Shi and despise him. The whole episode focused on the competition but I swear, some people just stay being petty no matter how good off they are. Lu Jianliang and Feng Jun teamed up to sabotage Xu Yan Shi because they were tired of losing to him. I just finished watching a drama where the villain's motive was out of jealousy for always coming 2nd to the male lead. I don't have more time for that! Take the "L" and go improve yourselves, please. 🙄
To make matters worse, we learn the truth behind Xu Yan Shi being stuck in Velin. Low and behold, the 3 roommates, Feng Jun, Lao Qing, and Lao Gui (friend who is currently sick in the hospital) hack into the security system of Velin illegally and are now being sued. But of course, Feng Jun doens't use his computer. He uses Xu Yan Shi's computer causing him to get tangled into this mess. Seriously messed up because the fine is a whopping 10 million RMB and without getting angry, Xu Yan Shi willingly helps them like a good friend would but what happens? Feng Jun decides to dip and leave the burden to them since he technically has no involvement. That's some real shady type of crap. Luckily, his professor was willing to step in to help them pay. XYS was able to lower the fine to 2 million RMB and with a bright future ahead to work at the well known navigation company, Xingheng, his plan was going swell. That is until his father calls to borrow money after his many horrible attempts of revising his business ventures. I mean seriously, what kind of sick joke is this? Xu Yan Shi cannot catch a break. He was so confident in clearing out that debt and escaping from the trap of Velin but Dad had to ruin it, again. I'm so angry for him. He needs some justice!
